8/10 for me but one of my reps in Melbourne is an good ole Aussie so I've picked up a bunch from him. I actually started building a dictionary quite awhile ago until I found it online.

When I was a little kid my Aunt and Uncle visited from Oklahoma. My Uncle said "Rich go get our bags out of the turtle".

At least he didn't ask you to get them out of the "boot".

10 out of 10 for me, but then again..... LOL

Hm... kinda of a "given".. Bet I could devise a "how to speak Ozark Hillbilly English" quiz that some of you folks down under might have a bit of a problem with . :) Course I don't know for sure as some of your slang is a whole lot like some of our slang. Maybe different words for things, but the ideas are sort of the same.

I got a "you gave it a fair crack of the whip" as well, 8/10. Perhaps pure luck, but I once kind of fell in love with a girl from Perth, so I gave it a try. Not certain how the lingo compares from Eastern to Western, but I do know things seem to be on a much larger scale out there, particularly when it comes to land, even though the US is larger.

Try off dialects of Pennsylvania Dutch:laughing:

That said, hardest dialect I had to learn was "Louisiana Cajun". Had to work with a counterpart from Louisiana in Albamba for some time, and took me about a 3-4 days to understand him. He didn't seem to have a problem understanding me though.

Agreed, and apologies on my end. Having worked in DC a long time ago, seems like you got a nice deal / place for being so close.

That said, in all honesty, with DC and their traffic and laws, the area never enthused me (I'd be worreid about having a shotgun shell in the back seat and get stopped for whatever reason in DC). I still have close relatives living in McLean, and I never look forward to driving there. Different strokes for different folks...
