Most of it concerns the load on the engine,
the less engine hp for the same load the more the governor has to open up (throttle)
to maintain the engine speed.
A 30 hp unit running a full 30 hp load is likely to use as much or even more fuel then a 60 hp unit
on that same 30 hp load and just loafing along with the governor just above the no load rpm setting.

Yep, Big Engine Working Easy Better Than Little Engine Working Hard.

Molalla is probably pretty bad, most of that area is evacuated, Tuesday was pretty dark, the rest of the week has been smokey and gross... I was working outside yesterday in a respirator...

My tractor has a rain switch. It's the same one I use to start the engine.

Had a conversation with a co-worker years ago. He was yapping about how much power is being derived from small engines. Example of 800 hp from a 2 liter race engine. I simply said - if small engines are so powerful, why don't they put them in big trucks? The answer was mumble, blubber, can't reason with you. Pretty funny.

Well for starters they rev so high they’d require ridiculous gearing to work. The second bigger problem is big trucks are designed for multiple million mile service. Little engines making big power don’t last long.

Stay safe Brother. Y'all are in our prayers. Maybe some rain up there next week.
