I would, but battery prices have to come down to make it really attractive.

Will be watching Tomorrow for what is released on Tesla's Battery day.

This really could be the tipping point on price, long term reliability, # of possible re-charges, and energy density per kg, that makes tractors, VTOL aircraft and others possible and truly affordable.

When Tesla announced the Cyber truck I couldn't understand how they would possibly be able to sell it for under 40k and have decent range.

The Only thing that made/Makes sense is that Tesla has perfected a much higher power density battery that can be manufactured for Much Much less than the previous cells.

The title pretty much says it. There are a few companies out there either developing or already getting units out that are entirely electric. Like the tesla of tractors. Would you consider one? Curious to what you think the pros and cons are.

Here's one that I heard about:

Monarch Tractor

This one, yes as it is priced right but unfortunately I am way over the weight limit...

LeTourneau was a huge fan on electric construction equipment. He invented a lot of what is used in mining. He also liked putting a motor at each wheel, and he said that electric motors have so much more torque then diesel that you don't need a transmission.

It's just a matter of time until it happens, there are too many advantages to electric drive motors over diesel.

But for me, at this time, it's a no. With all of my tractors, every issue that I have with them is electrical. I finally got my small tractor running reliabley by removing every single wire on it, and then just having the bare minimum wiring to keep it going. Starter. Alternator and a manual push button to the injectors to warm them up. I even removed my solenoid electric actuator and use a manual cable to open or close it!!!

Thus the logic of modern rail road locomotives...

It's all about converting energy...and efficiency...

They made log stackers too but they are slow as snot in January plus they still have a Diesel engine of 14L to run the generator.

I have seen hybrid forestry equipment such as wheel harvester but it’s nothing I’d touch the weight is nuts and a full battery rig is going to have to be roadside daily to charge.

The answer to a lot of these issues will come when machine/vehicle rooftop solar panels are effective enough to charge the battery while in operation. I don't see that in the next 10 years.

And we're still not dealing with the issues of mining and refining the materials to make these machines.

I would want lot feed back from owner before even considering purchasing.

I recently imported a mini-excavator from China. Some of the factories making this machine offer an electric option so you can use them inside without fouling the air. They use 120VAC and a cord, however. An interesting special-purpose option.
