Many bad things happen when one stupid thing colides with another stupid thing.

But Violence against this kid, just seems over the top. Cops have all the (paid) time in the world, as the aftermath illustrates. Why the hurry to escalate the violence so quickly?

My better solution. Talk to the kid, as in a two way conversation, answer the kids questions, as another officer goes to get his high power rifle in case the kid tries to mow anyone down.

He didn't stop were it was unsafe, I can fully understand that I have driven thru spots that I could drive thru working but I wouldn't stop for ground conditions.
He admitted that he didn't jump to do thier bidding as he was cooling the tractor down,
he also said that he couldn't hear them clearly over the tractor and that the masks they wore were muffling their voices.
He refused a breath test, good for him, public safety my a**, public harassment more like it.
No one has to be in charge, that was an incident were they were power tripping pure and simple.
Law enforcement does not have to be abusive as it seems to have become.

If he was drunk, escaped the road check, then ran into your family driving down the road and killed your wife what would be your thoughts?

The Farmer declared his feelings in the first few seconds of the video when he said he has no respect for LEO. He displayed that clearly that day.

I was thinking of the saying, I may have been born yesterday, but I wasn't born last night. I think this kid was.

He's not a kid. He's a Farmer operating Farm equipment on a public roadway. A kid would have not gotten into this situation. A kid would have got in line and obeyed the LEOs.

Yeah, could be. Again I say, he's not a kid. Nothing he did during this altercation would be considered kid like.

And everything the canadian cops did was over kill, bullying and power tripping because he didn't tow their line.

Their treatment of him on the ground was definitely over kill. The act of getting him to stop and exit from the tractor was not. It was done in the manner his behavior dictated.

I am still not undertanding the story. The video clearly shows the tractor on the roadway, yet I thought he left the roadway to get into his field. Did he drive around the "roadblock" and back onto the road? That would get the attention of most cops, tractor or not.

To me, his demeanor and appearance is that of a kid.

A... I oppose ALL checkpoints. Bar none.

B... While they were focused on this kid on his tractor, how many DUI or impaired drivers in motor vehicles passed?

C ... How many officers were at this one location interfering with traffic instead of being scattered out on patrol in trouble areas?

What did this little circus cost the Taxpayer?

Reminds me of two country friends that went to the BIG CITY with wads of cash in their pockets to go to an auction and ended up in the back of Police cars, in a temporary overblown situation. All started when apparently my friend took off from a light too quickly in his Diesel FORD. I think got charged with Dangerous Driving in the end. He and his Dad drove Transport trucks. Never known the guy to drive DANGEROUS!
