Traded the John Deere for a Mahindra

Congratulations on the new ride! Even so, you would have had a hard time dragging me out of a cabbed tractor. The 120+ degree heat indexes down here are brutal. Can't always put-off the work. Short of buying a new tractor, I've been looking for a cab and A/C.

The cab was deff nice but I could take it or leave it. If I HAD to be on one for 8-10 hours a day during all conditions, yes I would want a cab more but I don’t have that issue. If it’s stupid hot outside I’ll just find something else to do in the shade or do that on a cooler day. So loosing the cab has been no big deal.

I clear snow 4-5 times a year, being in a hot cab is super nice BUT again I only clear snow 4-5 times a winter (in the past 5 years). I didn’t clear snow at all last year. Only takes 45 mins to clear all mine and my neighbors snow with a 6ft rear blade.

How did that trade go? Were you able to buy the mahindra for less than you sold the JD for?

Awesome if so!!!

Well I sold the JD about a year ago then bought the Mahindra about a week ago. Yes I did buy it for less than I sold the JD for. And got a 7ft bush hog, 7ft rear blade, pallet forks and a bucket with it. Mahindra is a larger and more capable machine also. I waited till I was 100% debt free before I bought it.

I didn't see it above, but I'm guessing you either got your rear tires "filled" or you will, if you ever try to pick something up with the FEL that approaches the 3000 lb limit...I had my 6000's tires loaded before I took possession of it back in '03.....still going strong. BobG in VA

I have not filled the tires, I might add some wheel weights for ballast depending on how much they cost but for now I’m ok, not lifting anything that heavy. Tractor is 7999lbs as she sits, my JD was 5300lbs and did OK with what I moved but was light on the rear every now and then.

I have a 10ft long 7ft wide rotery cutter or a 550lb Box blade rock hang off the rear if I need ballast for now. More ballast is deff on the list.
