The current bottom line:

"3. Delta is forecast to approach the northern Gulf Coast late this
week as a hurricane. While there is large uncertainty in the track
and intensity forecasts, there is a significant risk of dangerous
storm surge, wind, and rainfall hazards along the coast from
Louisiana to the western Florida Panhandle beginning Thursday night
or Friday. Residents in these areas should ensure they have their
hurricane plan in place and monitor updates to the forecast of
Delta."

Here we go again....

Most of the forecast models show it coming directly at me. I'm about 50 miles inland from the coast, which is about 25 miles north of where the storm surge might reach.

This will be the second time this year that I board up my house. I boarded up for Laura this year. The last time I boarded up was for Lily in 2002. We took a direct hit from Lily and I was out of power for 5 days.

Laura missed me by about 60 miles to the west, and I was out of power for only 12 hours.

Luckily, my new roof was completed late last week. It was last changed in 2002 after Lily. Hopefully it holds up for Delta.

I think we are pulling out and heading your way on Friday morning, I will be praying for everyone in the path of this storm, we went through this in 2004 with back to back hurricanes, it does suck. Charlie.

Yea and when they are done in La and spread out several hundred miles wide, they dump rain on us for days. We are so wet in SC right now that a drizzle causes flooding.
