Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Harbor Freight big foot 700# capacity (I kinda doubt that) hand truck. [Closeout] $35.00.

I've had it for 3-4 years. Works great. I use a ratchet strap and cheap Harbor Freight moving quilts to protect furniture. I've moved couches, tables, roll-top desks, refrigerators, car transmissions... all kinds of stuff. I like this thing. 700 lb. Capacity Bigfoot Hand Truck

Yes! I bought one when I had to close parents and then inlaws estates. Each had additional collections of stuff they had inherited, so much clutter. For example three 4x8 trailerloads of books from Mom's, in 40 lb cartons, gifted to the library where it was a 100 ft transport from the parking lot.

This is ideal for use as you described. I've thought of modifying mine to be a dolly for long orchard ladders, like the way telephone poles are carried.

This is on closeout and sure to be replaced with the same capability at double the price. For anyone who can use one, jump on this!

Harbor freight has a lot of great tools.. since I retired from being a Auto tech,I know longer share my pay checks with Snap-on & USA tools, if I need something,I go to Harbor freight.. found out that if you buy mig wire from them, it will not weld, the wire is garbage, get quality wire, the harbor freight welders are very good for the price

Yes, they do and some cheap worthless ones as well. HF, like any place has good stuff and not so good stuff.

I also used it to wheel around several 4x8 sheets of OSB at a time. I'd stand them up longways, then tip them back. It was like having a stack of wheeled plywood. Pretty easy to roll across the lawn to the back of our existing garage to our addition we're building in the back.

I move picnic tables with a dolly. I prefer solid tires, pneumatic seem to always be flat.

I replaced my wheel barrow tire that I was inflating EVERY time I needed it a month ago with the larger HF airless replacement tire and it was well worth the money when you consider the time I spent over the last 5 years inflating that **** original tire! I wish I had done it a long time ago.

I found that those wheel barrow wheels are made very cheaply. It's two halves sort of welded together. But they don't do a very good job cleaning up the spatter from the welding and often not a great job painting the inside of the wheel. Over time that causes the inner tube to develop a small hole from the spatter and is most likely the cause of a slow leak. I've had to take a grinder to more than one to fix this problem and usually use that spray in bed liner stuff to make a thick coating on the inside of the wheel. I would guess any hand truck that isn't two halves bolted together could also suffer from this.

I put the 10" solids on my near 30 year old hand truck, replacing the original air ones. I haven't decided yet if I like them over all. I don't have to air them up when I want to move a load, but they seem to rut into soft ground a lot more, making it harder to roll.

I put a little bit of fix a flat in my wheel barrow tire, then aired it up and hit the sidewalls with a small hammer (tubeless I think) and somehow that worked... those steep beads on the wheels are annoying, I went from airing it up very often to not touching it for months... I think I'll look for one of those bigfoot dollies, they would be nicer over rough ground, I have one of the yard wagons with 13" tires and it's great, the 10" are just too bumpy...

RFB, good luck; my local HF (Albany) closed those out several months ago - I haven't checked to see if they're back for the "close-out", I already have several of the blue "bigfoot" ones. Most of my place is just "lumpy" enough that the 13" tires really help. I've only had ONE tire not hold air out of 4-5 of the bigfoots. Those are made in Viet Nam, maybe they know how to make "soft" stuff better than China does

HF had a "replacement" big foot hand truck, not sure how good the frame was but the tires were back to 10" size and they were still calling it "big foot"

Not seeing that one presently, it's gettin' kinda hard to keep up with their plan (if there IS a plan)... Steve

All they had at one local store was the new big wide guy that's like $130 but in all honesty a hand truck is rare around my area, I have like 4 trailers, two Rangers and an F350 as well as the 3 point forks on the tractor... I can figure it out :)

Ended up with a Berger ground clamp for my Titanium welder though, it's built better than the Titanium one... I didn't think it was bad but the "cups" on each contact surface of the original ground clamp are chrome plated brass that's maybe .015" thick, ANY arcing on them burns it out and the screw gets loose... on second thought I should have bought one for each Titanium welder, next time...
