I see any communiction as valuable. You might just find out that what you are selling isn't worth what you think it is. They may tell you, there are ten similar items at half the price at blah, blah, blah. Good to know. I have met the nicest people buying and selling stuff.

I would call the dealer directly. Last week I found a heavy duty harrow listed for sale at a Sun South JD dealer. I called the dealer directly and spoke to the salesman who had the listing. He said an old man had traded in all of his attachments and they just put them up online the day before. I made him an offer which was 20% off of the list price and he took it. I got in the truck and drove 2 hours to pick it up and was back home before the end of the work day.

I have put, FIRM or no lowball offers and sometimes even "I will not respond to low ball offers". Thing is, you don't want to come across as too ridged. Other thing is, you would swear many can't or don't read the wording anyway.

I like the folks that say, your offer is insulting! Hee hee, so what. First off, unless it's family or friends, it's business and business is ruthless. Second, if I want to insult you, it will take me about 10 seconds to find something so just say, no thank you.

A low offer is not an insult, it's a buyers attempt to save money.

I know the pawn shows are phony but I still watch once in a while. They almost always offer 50%. That part is not phony!

A friend says he knows the owner of the Cajun pawn shop and swears that show is legit.

I try to be fair with what I sell. I dont want to give it away and do my homework on the market. If I put a price on something and you offer 1/2 or less without even contacting me first or looking at it ...I wont give you a reply back and waste my time.

OP here. I still keep my eye out for a box blade but gave up on the one I made the low ball offer. I figure either they aren’t keeping an eye out from Tractorhouse offers or I was to low. I actually put the rear blade on my JD 2025r and used it some last week. When I had a BX 2350 the blade wasn’t very useful, it tended to just skip along. With my JD the blade is bigger and heavier and the tractor has bigger tires, a longer wheel base and is heavier so the blade works better. At this point I will probably only get a box blade if it’s cheap.

Not tractor related but snubbed again. My wife lost the big diamond out of her ring, at least it’s big if you use a big enough magnifying glass. Not going to be really expensive but depending on what we get could be over a $1000. Jeweler was going to call us back the next day with a price, that was six days ago.
