ABSOLUTELY! No reason at all to have the rear strobes going on an emergency vehicle heading down the road, or forward facing ones on a police car blinding opposing traffic once the vehicle has stopped.

HAND SIGNALS! I don't hesitate to use them, especially if I am towing and not sure if everything is working like after submerging the boat trailer, making a turn that might be unusual, driving a buddies beater pickup that I know is suspect, and in my tractor if I am crossing the road we live off of.

I contemplated doing that on my UTVs, but think what's the point? Who understands those if they even notice. I especially like the one for braking!

But seriously, whenever I'm towing my car hauler with my tractor or a load of firewood, etc... and I'm turning left, I'll always use my left hand signal if there's no left turn lane to get into. Never know when a tail light on the trailer might not be enough for the guy coming up behind me.

In certain places though, that's a surefire way to get shot.

Too often trailer lights don't work. I almost rear ended a contractor trailer at a green light this spring because they didn't work, and I couldn't see the truck lights because of course that's the day that my X-Ray vision was acting up. We happened to be stopping at the same place so I politely told the driver that they weren't working, he said he knew but didn't care.

Many years ago I once entertained the notion of installing a brake light cutout switch for those pesky tailgaters. What do you mean my brake lights didn't work? Of course they DO!
