BL25R FEL Operation Question

   / BL25R FEL Operation Question #21
I'll see what it does this weekend. I had a smaller Kubota before this machine for 12 years. Never had an issue. As soon as the bucket was on the ground I could curl the bucket and lift the front of the ground around 12 inches.

Sounds like either there is a weak valve OR you've pushed the stick so far forward that it's floating. When you push all the way forward until it clicks, it's in float mode and will rise and drop with the terrain but the curl, or tilt, of the bucket does not float or change.

Definitely the curl cylinders that are causing the bucket to not hold position when back dragging.
I checked this evening, just not sure why.

Well it's certainly not "normal".

I have the same loader. It does NOT do that.

I didn't figure it was.

Just have to determine if the problem is the FEL valve under the cab or an issue with one or both curl cylinders.

One way to check your cylinders is to take the hose off of one end of both cylinders,
seeing as how it is not holding when back blading I'd pull the base end hoses off,
then slide a couple of hoses over or attach them to the cylinders and route them to a bucket,
now curl your bucket back and hold the curl function in,the only fluid that should run out of the hoses is what was in the cylinders,
if you get a continual flow your cylinder packings are leaking by.
There is one other possibility if you get a large flow from just one cylinder,
I have heard of an instance were the piston came off a rod.
Usually which ever side leaks by into your bucket is the cylinder with the defective packing.

Great information! I'll have to try that.
I haven't tried to curl the bucket under to lift the tractor up and see if it holds yet.

If it holds it up the cylinders and valve are in good shape. :drink:

I'll try that tomorrow.
If it does hold do you think it is air in the lines or something else?

   / BL25R FEL Operation Question #29
It's a possibility,
but some valves will let the bucket dump down faster than the fluid volume can accommodate and it can cause the issue you are having.
I have heard several explanations of that theory and they don't seem plausibility to me but I have been told that was why some valves have a regenerative dump feather.

I will be surprised if it is not air in the system. I have experienced this with my Kioti with the new valve. I cycle it a few times and am good to go.
