I think the last chain I bought was about $19... and I go through about 3 per year. A saw shop has to make money and that includes paying somebody to log in your chain, then get it back to you and accept your payment. I run a file across the teeth at least every other tankful, at $8.00 every time it would get rather pricey. It's pretty easy to learn how to file and once you learn it will save you a lot of time and money. There are some pretty good tutorials on YouTube, and several good file guides out there.

I have not heard that. That kinda sucks.....

I have been running a husky 562xp here recently....and while I still like my dolmars....that husky is growing on me. Balance, power to weight, etc.

That 562 is a nice saw. I wish that I could justify buying one.

I took down rakers and sharpen chain for first time on big Jon, feeler gauged the rakers at .020 before, then after one swipe they was a good .035. This chain is a year old so at this rate it should last 10 years or until I'm to old to lift the saw.

That's my favorite saw right now. Been great.
