Loader FEL loader safety prop

/ FEL loader safety prop #21
My Branson shipped to the dealer with 2x2 angle iron on both loader arms. I think they ship with the loader up to maximize space on the trailer. I got a pair from the dealer, painted white so I wouldn't miss them and use ladder tied to secure them. Depending on what I'm doing, I sometimes have to store the tractor in the barn with the loader up. This keeps the cylinders from letting the loader down as well as making it safe to work under them

That’s really all it takes.

Not uncommon, actually. In our younger days, that would have been me up in the bucket with the chainsaw and my wife driving the tractor. Well, here we are many decades latter none the worse for it.................Thankfully

I think we are all here because we were survived our own foolishness. But what does that prove?
Maybe just that it's better to be lucky than smart..... but better yet to be both.

If the loader prop was an option for the loaders I would be a customer. Based on my uses, life experiences and appreciation for well designed and purposefully built equipment. I think Kubota tractors are made in Japan, but all loaders and backhoes are made in the United States and Canada? Looking for Kubota to be a leader.

I am going to start using a safety stand for a 2 post lift. Like this one:

2 Ton Capacity Underhoist Safety Stand

Reviving this thread looking for more/better ideas.
Two of those hoists look good but expensive.

I need to trim some trees around the house. They are brushing against the second story chimney. I'd like to
strap the cage for a 300 gallon IBC tote onto my pallet forks
Lift the forks to max height
put two tripods made of 4x4's under each side so the forks don't drop - I've got about 16 8' PT 4x4's and I wouldn't want to trust just one under each side.
put a ladder up the side to climb in

Does this seem feasible?
Any one else done it and have hints/pictures?

Applaud your consideration on how to mitigate hazards. Lot a variables like ground conditions and grade to consider with any idea.

I’ve done similar but dought if anyone will say it is safe.

They do make forklift man platforms. Also consider fall protection harness and tether. Also have a partner that can help.

Anything dealing with cutting trees is going to be high hazard so can’t be too careful.

As far as stabilizing the loader boom cylinders,
I'd just run it up to the height that I wanted measure the cylinder rod and cut a piece of angle to the length required to hold the loader were i wanted it.
As far as the curl cylinder maybe a chain and binder to lock it in position.
I wouldn't bother with trying to get 4x4s to hold the bucket in position.

Here is what I made for my BX. The curved pieces on the end that pivots are a 1 1/2" shaft collar sliced in two, then those cut in half. I used 1 1/2" square tube with one side cut out with a plasma cutter. I used a 1" flat washer on the other end, cut to slip over the cylinder ram.

They are only for holding up the empty FEL, not any kind of load.

Edit: I forgot to post a picture of how I added a couple of tabs to stow it strapped to the ROPS.
