55 going to 77...nice and clear, except a 4 foot layer of fog sitting on the field, creeping up the hill.

Kyle, you have such a good relationship and communication channel open with your girl that she'll make good decisions.

Mostly, that was a long ride for a slice of wedding cake. :)

Pop, awesome plane. I love seeing them fly over here from the county airport on rare occasions.

Ken, great job on those planks. My wife loves live edge.

The mountains were calling yesterday, so I had to go. Hiked the Big Run Loop trail in shorts and a t-shirt. Never hiked there before...goes into the most remote area in the Shenandoah NP. Beautiful forest and stream. Saw only 2 folks - one young backpacking couple that had been hiking for 4 days. Still some nice colors on the trail. Saw our best friends at the park exit at same time I was leaving...small world.

Stopped by Lowe's on the way home to get some cedar lumber to fix some trim today...seemed so much better stocked than our local HD was last week. Then picked up some pulled chicken bar-b-que and fixin's to take to my wife for dinner from the BBQ Exchange.

Good morning it’s 52 and the fog is burning off quickly here this morning.
Not a lot planned for today, I have to take a short trip this morning.

Spent some time yesterday pushing a leaf blower around, but in general I don’t have to deal with a lot of cleanup. House is on top of the hill, in a large clearing, so the wind does most of it for me.

Good to see that Drew’s generator made it into the garage, I would also second Cedar as a good material. However the price of lumber is breathtaking right now.

The biplane started life as a 1931 Great Lakes, but has been extensively modified. Probably the most significant was the leap from 90 hp to 260. It also has inverted fuel and oil systems,

Having raised two sons and a daughter, i can only say that you’ve got little control of the daughter’s choices, but hopefully her upbringing will guide her to good ones. But it’s an interesting ride along the way.

Good Morning!!!! 41F @ 4:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 61F. Winds light and variable.
Down in the valley it's ten degrees colder, a common pattern this time of year. Often times it fills up with fog as well, something I hope holds off for another week or two...

That hike sounds good, Bill, especially the BBQ!:licking:

Glad you're stayin' busy, Buppies. How much longer before it's too cold to get asphalt?

That's a lot of work, Thomas, but glad you got the problem squared away. And now the laptop? Sheesh...:grumpy:

Another beautiful red sky, Ron. Is rough weather on the way?

And cedar smells so good when your cutting it, Drew. And it looks like your plan for energy independence is coming along nicely, too!

Never went to a chiropractor, always seemed like a scam to me. But I've been very lucky to run across a good physical therapist or two. But some not so good ones, too, just like any other profession.

Not a good feeling when a vehicle isn't where you expect, Eric. But not a good feeling when memory plays tricks, either.

Glad the mill worked out Ken. Nice back yard, too, full of fun toys!

Good to hear from you again, Lynn. How much longer before you'll be back out on the snow?

Seems like every time they try to open schools to in person teaching here, Ted, they get a CV19 spike and they go back to distance learning. That vaccine can't come soon enough!

Art is too often used as an excuse to justify ridiculous prices, Don. Glad you overcame the temptation. Don't feel bad: Artists are used to starving.

OK, now Paul, tell us the rest of the story about that little red rocket ship of yours. Looks like some serious fun!

Sometimes your best ideas are even better if you can get someone else to think they were theirs instead. Sorry about the HF switch and the pole saw chain.

Looks like I'm going to have to pull my horns in a little bit on the way south this week. I'd planned to meet friends at a campground outside of Joshua Tree Thursday night, but they're having a cold snap and snow down there, too. One fella is snowed in, the one that made the CG reservations is not going because of health problems, and the other couple are trailering their bikes because it'll be in the 30s that night. I'm not much for waking up as a popsicle, to I'll get a room with a heater in town that night instead. Salton Sea is much lower and warmer, but will still be 10-15 degrees cooler than in past years as well. But I can manage mid 40s in the tent just fine. And so far, it looks like I'll only hit rain for the last few hours of the ride coming back north on Monday. :crossfingers:

FedEx and postman showed up earlier than usual yesterday, so I got the doorbell transformer installed and unpacked a starter and alternator for the white bike. The doorbell worked first time I rang it, what a relief! And once "adopted" into the security cam system, the doorbell cam worked well, too. Maybe a little too well, as it showed me I'm gittin' pretty ugly in my old age.:confused3:

Checked air and oil in the motorcycle after that, then packed my gear and clothes for the trip. Today I need to run errands in town, then come home and do some rearranging in the garage to bring in a fresh pallet of stove wood. It was 66F in the house when I got up yesterday, and the first woodstove fire of the season felt real nice. In a couple hours it was 80F in the great room, and last week I would have been turning on the A/C!

Great looking benches, tell me about your movie screen, like how big it is and where did you get it.
What do you do for sound for movie night?

The screen is an Elite Screens Yard Master 120" - it has an aluminum frame and thick screen with black backing. For Sound I use a JBL Charge 3, that is what I have around for using at the pool. The screen takes some time to fold/unfold the frame and install screen, but it is pretty solid. Have used it for 4 movie nights and it takes about 15 minutes to assemble. easier with 2 people.
For the projector, I just get a cheap one with keystone and ability to "zoom", cost me about $80. this one I have about three years. So some do last...

Love the plane. Love the picture. Spent a lot of time in various aircraft. Could NEVER handle inverted. Severe anxiety kicks in. My brain is just not wired for upside down.

Good morning all, 45 going up to 74, another nice day (Why does Wunderground show a low of 60 when it's clearly shows current as 49? :confused2:)

Had another movie night, just with the family. Today will move the slabs indoors to start sanding/staining as one of my winter projects.

Eric- Ash is not the most durable-but I have tons of it (literally) since the emerald ash borer is killing them all. Some are in the 90-100 foot tall range. I have to be careful where I drop them as they take out anything in their way when falling and I don;t want to wipe out any maples and poplars near them.

Kyle - with the daughter we can see you really care and raised her right, so she will do fine in the dating world-

Miss being in planes Popgadget - but I was never a flyer and only on the yoke with friends in real control. Wife started pilots lessons, but does not do well with maps, though she was good at touch and go's

Stay safe and be well.

64°F and mostly cloudy this morning, going up to 77° today. Good chance for rain this afternoon and evening, with temps dropping into the 30s overnight. More seasonable highs in the 50s after that.

Puttered around in the studio a bit last night, and did a little laundry. Exciting times.

Wife just sent me a text message that the tree service just showed up and is starting to chip our debris pile.

I've used chiropractic on a few occasions. I compressed a disc in my lower back when I was 22 (trying to catch a PA speaker cabinet falling out of the back of a truck I was loading with a friend), and went to a local chiropractor who my Mother had used with some success. His work did help a lot, but I wasn't enamored with the notion of going back over and over and over ... and neither was my health insurance at the time (1988). I worked in campus security for a couple of years at Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield MO back in the early '90s, and had access to free care in their clinic. That was nice. One of the student doctors was a massage therapist before studying chiropractic, and she was definitely my favorite. Was sorry to see her graduate. I'm sure chiropractic is like any other endeavor; there are the good ones and the less good ones.
