Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

The manual tire changer is fine for steel wheels but will gouge aluminum. I modified the tire lever with a piece of teflon to protect the wheel while removing the tire and just don't use it to put the tire back on the wheel. I was kind of hoping that they would start selling touchless manual tire changers. They only seam to be sold in China so having one sent to the US would be expensive. But HF could do it in bulk. I've seen prices around $300 but I'm sure that's for one unit.

100% correct. The hold down will gouge alloy wheels. Owning a machine shop, I fabbed up a solid bronze disc that goes under the steel hold down and that protects the alloy wheels.

I know it's short term so far but the 4' 5000 lumen shop lights are working good for me so far... they were on sale for $18 each the last couple weeks so I stocked up and just got them mounted up... I now have 14 of them in the rafters of the shop I'm building... There is LOTS of light, 3 per truss pair in the middle and 3 down each of the two rat runs that I have going end to end (yes that makes 15, I have one of the lights that is two row). Time will tell but I like how bright it is, I'm pretty sure it's as much light as as many 3 bulb fluorescents'...

Give them a month or 2 and they will start expiring. Found that out.

you said you had rural king (or someplace else I'm not used to that the northwest doesn't have) lights, they could be the same or they could be different... They just plug in and hang on chains, replacement is easy with a ladder so I'm not too worried and the gamble is the same as any of the options...

In my case Menards (and cheaper than HF) and it showed. Lost 3 already, went in the trash. When they work they work well but when they poop out, they become worthless. For me, a case of 6000K T-8's are more economical. I don't get overly excited about electrical consumption anyway. Like everything else on the farm, electricity is a business deduction.

A dud - the 4-outlet power strip. My kid used this to get a 1500 watt heater where it could blow into the next room. No. It turns off after a moment.

The 15 amp rating is uh 'optimistic'.

That is awfully cheap. I bet it has 'spaghetti' wires. 15 amps at 110 makes some heat in undersized wires. Probably cannot take the strain so it went to sleep.

Electric space heaters should NEVER be on any type of extension cord, let alone a discount outlet strip.
