Who makes a good caulking gun?

This is my absolute go-to caulk gun:

I ordered one and it looks more impressive in person. Only problem is at the moment I have nothing to caulk. Maybe some day I'll give some feedback after using it.

Since a friend that does commercial glazing leant me his sausage gun, I have little use for the old tubes.

It takes a little getting used to it, since it's like driving a hydrostatic compared to a geared machine. Most other guns you need to a clutch (release lever) or to twist the rod to get the caulk to stop flowing. With this gun, when you let up pressure on the trigger, the caulk stops flowing. And you can push or pull the plunger rod any time, with no releases needed. It also loads backwards, plunger end first, compared to other guns which load tip first.

I've heard about the sausage gun, where do you get the sausages? How are they to handle (i.e. weight and balance)?

Mostly trade outlets. Amazes me too, how you get the "GOOD STUFF" not the consumer grade, big box store junk. Most commercial sealants seem to be available in sausages. It's cheaper, doesn't seem to spoil as quickly and for big jobs, you are not changing tubes as often. Also, it seems to feed better than any conventonal (high end) tube style gun I have used.

I have the M18 caulk gin, but-wish I could have bought the M12 lighter gun. It works but for small caulk jobs its to bulky.
