Is there a title to a tractor?

In Michigan the only things that have titles are things that need a license plate. Trailers, cars, trucks, RV's.
That is not correct. I have 3 ATVs and they all have a title and no plate. The only thing that requires a registration in Michigan is a vehicle with a plate.

I've bought skid steers, small loaders/dozers and such, always cash in hand and load on trailer.
I really don't need to know your name and you don't need to know mine.

That's one way to promote the distribution of stolen property.

Sure... if that's how you see it. I like to buy my firearms the same way. I guess they are stolen a well. Anyways...

I've seen a few people that did business like that and they got jammed up for Possession of Stolen Property.

Years ago a guy working for me went to a Gun Show. While there he bought a pistol. Monday morning he came to me and said he thought he might have bought a stolen pistol. Judged by how the transaction was handled. I said you have two choices.

1. Go to the County Sheriff with the pistol and let him run it. If it's stolen he will confiscate it and it'll likely never make it back to the original owner but rather sit in an evidence cage for several years.

2. Keep the pistol and move on.

He chose #1. Went exactly as I suggested it would in regards to confiscation.

If the end result would have been the original owner contacted and hooked up with the buyer so the pistol could be returned directly to him I'd be all for it. Might be a family heirloom or something. But I'm betting the pistol never made it back to the owner. And he probably doesn't care about it anymore having collected insurance.

I am not overly anti government, or overly pro 2a. What I will say is that it is clearly the government's objective to keep or destroy any gun that it gets in is possession.

Unless the original owner had specific firearms coverage, he probably collected exactly nothing!
