my last one didn't have the hinged rear blade.. not quite sure how that works...

The floating rear blade is great for smoothing things out, especially gravel. You tilt the box blade back as far as the top link will allow so that the moveable blade "glides" over the surface. It will smooth out the 'windrows' left behind when spreading gravel and such.

I did a large gravel parking area (75' x 200') spreading the 3/4" minus stone, then just drove around in circles and back and forth using the moveable rear blade..... came out smooth as glass. Watch some videos of "box blade with hinged rear blade".... you'll see what I mean.

Sounds like your having fun....ehhhh.... I mean doing a lot of work already with the tractor....

yup, put three hours on it today...
I ended up drilling through the flap and into the box in 4 places and bolting it so it wont move. I'm leveling an area about the size of a basketball court that has a rise in the middle, cutting that rise down and moving it to one end. I like using the trailing blade as a guide that keeps the cutting blade from going too deep, lets me skim off thin layers... I can always remove the bolts if I want it to flap again...
BoxBlade did great! tractor did great.. weather here is perfect right now.. I'm sure my blood pressure went way down today :) and I don't have to go back to work until December...
6 months to retirement, I can't wait.

Getting ready to build a 1000 sqft shop with a 280 sqft office/mancave. slab and footing goes down January
