One thing which I don't like the newer GMs and their computer controlled everything is how slow it works. A couple of times today I drove through a temperature inversion which instantly fogged my windshield; after turning on the defrost it takes about 8-10 seconds for the blower to kick in. Today while I was driving virtually blind with somebody on my bumper and no place to pull over.

There was only one who I enjoyed hunting and fishing with.............my Dad. It was never the same after that. My Dad taught me how to swim quietly like an American Indian...at least that's what he said. and... how to hunt ducks squirrels rabbits etc. No deer however...We felt lucky to have a single shot 22.

Good pics Richard.

Cheers,
Mike

I've had a lot of fun through my life but I'm really enjoying the season I'm in now. I just turned 64 in October and ya I think the best years of my life are happening right now. I'm not monetarily rich by any means but I have enough. My wife and I and all our kids and daughter in laws all get a long well. We enjoy being with each other. I have grandkids that ask for "Oupa" all the time. I have great friends from both genders. I don't need much more.

Yes! I turned 60 two years ago, and I firmly believe these are the best days of my life as well. Wifey and I are living life like we never could at 20. I am truly a blessed man. :)

The good ole days... there were 8 of us and only one TV. You had to get up and walk across the room to change the channel... OH, the Horror!!! All that we ever had was B/W screens...Cartoons were only on for a few hours on Saturday morning, not on demand as they are now. Then we went outside to play.

i remember those quirky tube tvs well. my dad would always be opening it and pulling out tubes to take to thriftys and putting on the vacuum tube tester. he kept it running though. he even converted it to fully remote.

he learned to tell one of the 4 kids to get up and change the channel. occasionally i would have to reach thru the back and gently tap on tv tube with screwdriver to get picture to show up. kids were expendable back then i guess.

Me too.

My Dad is the man on the right. That's me sitting next to him. My Sister in the front left, Brother front middle.

My Dad taught me how to swim in that River. I taught my Sons how to swim in that River. They taught their children how to swim in that River. Good ole days still going on.

My Dad taught me how to work, but most importantly he taught me how to play. We had tracking hounds, they were his passion. Coyotes were an infestation. The County put up a $15 bounty. So we hunted. This pic was a successful hunt. Me on the left, Brother on the right. Pretty good payday for one afternoon of fun.

My Dad's sense of humor is displayed in the name of the dog I'm holding. Sheithead. :D
