Yes, everything without the trailer is 33,000. But don’t know how much the trailer is worth. My guess 5-7 thousand for a specialized setup like it. Christmas came early this year :)

Merry Christmas!

I hope you have lots of great times with it. It sounds like a great gift/acquisition.

I agree that the specs are probably unchanged. As long as you don't overheat it, and keep up on the greasing/filter changes, these are pretty simple machines. A few of the end eyes on the hydraulic cylinders, e.g. the steering cylinders, are lubricated with SuperLube spray.

If it were mine (I should be so lucky!), I might be tempted to change all the oils and filters, with a particular eye to how clean the hydraulic tank is, just to start things off on the right foot so to speak. I would also blow out /power wash the hydraulic oil cooler. Finally, you might give the hydraulic hoses a once over to see if there is any wear spots or cracks. (Not looking a gift horse in the mouth, you know, just being prudent)

All the best,

Peter

I understand due diligence, and I will certainly go over it with a fine tooth comb so to speak.
I am thinking of installing a larger oil cooler and temp gauge for the hydraulics, and possible shrouds for the Robin air to help keep it separated from the heat of the pumps and bringing in cool air from the outside to keep it cooler. I will also install a oil cooler for the engine as well to help prolong its life.
I am anxious to start on working on my property, I have three acres and currently about 15 stumps to grind. I don’t think it will take a lot because the stumps are already rotting, but am excited to get them removed and leveled out in the yard. I think the stump removals will pay for my purchase of the equipment alone.

I'm glad I don't have any brick walls nearby.

That's a fantastic price. A similar new machine is over $16K with no attachments and no trailer.

I wasn’t sure if this unit was the same as others, because the battery is mounted on the outside of the engine compartment, and the engine cage is open and not covered, it does not look as if it had any wire mesh installed previously on the engine cover so I was thinking it was a special order or custom built unit, or very old . :)

All great ideas. Heat is always the enemy of oil, seals and hoses. A fan on the side of the engine housing pushing in cool air /exhausting warm air should do wonders.

If your stumps are rotting, your backhoe might make even quicker work removing them.

Looking at your photos, it doesn't appear to be that old. I suspect the prior business owner removed the mesh, and moved the battery, likely due to heat.

I'm looking forward to photos and videos!

All the best,

Peter

That was a steal! Sadly it seems like the resell value trends to be lower then other brands, maybe because they are not very well known.

Since it was close to me, I went to look at the PT1445 that is advertised on the factory website with 16 original hours. The trailer portion on the bill, for just the trailer was $11,000.

Sadly this one has been stored outside, unused for years. Now the chrome on the pistons is rusty and who knows what else. Paint is peeling and rusted underneath. If those rusted chrome piston rods get sucked in the hydraulic system it will contaminate it. Too bad.

Wow.
I know you can have the cylinders reworked and re polished if the rust isn’t too bad. If not they can be replaced. If we do our homework we can usually find a good deal on the parts if we dig around and search for them.
