Congradulations love those old Lulls.:thumbsup: Where I'm from we call all telehandlers Lull's . Because back in the day that all that existed and everybody in construction had one . If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay? My boss bought an old full size played old POS Gradall 15 years ago for $11,000 . We have been useing it all the time sine then . Everybody on the jobs we do says it the biggest POS they have ever seen ,we say it's better than yours, they say we don't have one are answer there you go. Moral of the story you can't kill old iron especially for what you gonna use it for . Good luck . :drink:

Thanks! Old Lull is right. I don't know the year it was made. But I assume the serial number search will show the year. I hope. But old iron is easier to work on and troubleshoot then the new fancy digital ones with all that pollution crap on them.

I had a prebid in for $20,100. When it went into the auction ring, the bid was at $13,700. Those farmers ran the bid up to $19,000, then quit bidding. With auction fee...............$19,745. No tax, timber exemption. Will cost about $2,000 to haul down. The plan is to take the front telehandler mount off and install a skid steer adapter plate, so I can use my grapple. That will be another $2,000. It has a tilting fork carriage on it now.

While looking at two last Tuesday, one had a sliding carriage. Don't remember if it was a Lull or Gradall. Anyway, why a sliding carriage when you have a boom that extends. I didn't like the design as it surrounded the engine and just added unneeded (for Me) complexity.

I think that's so when they have the boom positioned/angled up/out just right (or maxed out) and can't move the machine, it gets them the extra few feet horizontal to set down a pallet without having to keep twitching the angle down as the boom is pushed out.

The plan needs to be to buy an adapter that works like the one I had for the V518:

That way you can still use the forks. The adapter stays on the grapple.

Then I can use all the attachments the Mahindra uses. My forks are from the Mickey Mouse club house. They are only 42 inches long and ground down from abusive drivers that drug them around for years with the tips rubbing the concrete. Gotta buy some longer, stronger ones.

I have 54" forks on my little forklift and I really like the extra length compared to the normal 42" ones. I have 8' forks on a big lift we are using now and they suck. Between a rack that is packed with cylinders and my eyes needing new glasses, you can't really see the end of the forks and have to have a spotter. As far as the SSQA plate, if you can weld a standard plate could be modified for the telehandler. SSQA plates run in the $350 (look rather cheap and imported from the land of people who are not good welders) to pretty nice for about $700. Cut the back off of the one that you are getting on the telehandler and graft it onto a new adapter plate and you should be good to go and have money left in your pocket.
