I had a distant relative die from CV this week.
I’m type A so it worries me.

The definition of heresy is a belief or action at odds with what is accepted, especially when the behavior is contrary to religious doctrine or belief. An example of heresy is a Catholic who says God does not exist. Adherence to such dissenting opinion or doctrine. Adherence to such controversial or unorthodox opinion.

As nouns the difference between hearsay and heresy is that hearsay is information that was heard by one person about another while heresy is (religion) a doctrine held by a member of a religion at variance with established religious beliefs, especially dissension from roman catholic dogma.

I was actually curious as to the difference. Had never looked it up before. After reading the heresy definition I vaguely remember my English teacher in high school talking about the differences.
