I have a 2019 John Deere Gator XUV825MS4.

This morning was out doing morning chores I heard some gurgling noise under the hood, but didn't think too much of it at the time. The engine temperate light never came on, so finished chores and parked it in the barn. Came back a couple of hours later pulled the gator out for another run to check fences and on returning noticed a pool of liquid on the barn floor. It looked like coolant had leaked from somewhere around the recovery tank/reservoir. The liquid in the reservoir was boiling when I returned to the barn. I let it cool down and by that time the tank itself was empty. We removed the tank filled it with water, but didn't see a leak.

I removed the radiator cap once it had cooled and could see that the coolant level was a little low, but not by much. I could still see it in the radiator. There doesn't seem to be any leaking around any of the hose connections or the hoses themselves.

I am at a loss here. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't think it would be under warranty, even though I bought an extended warranty on the Gator. I may just put it all back together and haul it down to the dealer.

Ideas? Yea but I think your idea of hauling it to the dealer is as good as any.

I have had weird situations with a bunch of differnent equipment and vehicles. See (obvious) drips of coolant in the snow and NEVER find the source, nor does anything ever later reveal itself.

If there was a puddle, as least you could get a good idea where it came from, provided you didn't move the machine. I only ever see yellow marks in the snow.

If you have warranty, see if the dealer will work on it for no charge.

If he won't, you can pick up a product at most auto parts stores that's a dye that you put into the cooling system. Clean the machine as well as you can. Add the dye to the radiator. Run the machine until it gets hot/starts overheating, etc... Then you check the machine in a dark garage or at night with a black light (usually included in the kit) and the dye will fluoresce under the black light, showing you where the leak is.

I've used it a number of times on car and truck cooling systems. They also make one for the oil system. Both work great!

AHhh but there was a time when your name in snow was possible, now days initials are a challange.

It's the stuff in them thar Chem Trails. Makes things shrivel up so they don't reproduce.

The gurgling sounds like running hot, say from low coolant, circulation restrictions, radiator blockage, etc.

There may be a temp-controlled fan/switch that's not functioning, esp if it's a convection vs pump-driven system.

If gurgling when parked hot there may have been enough steam expansion to overflow the reservoir as said in post #4.
