Price Check Money Man Says We're Almost There. . .

OK. . . So the Money-Man says we are about in a position to drop some money on a tractor. She didn't bat an eye when I went to the Kubota dealership today, so that's a great thing! I am exploring a variety of options, none are cheap! ! ! But hey, this will be the first and last tractor I will ever buy. I've got just one question.

MX 5400DT Cab with Loader -- Price on KubotaUSA Build My Kubota is $41,024. The price I got from my local dealer is $39,390. A difference of $1,634.

That is just 4% below List on the website.

Opinions? ? ? Should I expect to receive a better price? 4% sounds a bit light to me, but I don't have anything to go by.

So that's it. Down and dirty. Need some thoughts on this.

The market is crazy right now but I’d probably reach out to some other dealers and see if you can get that down a little. But be warned there is a strong rumor of a significant price increase next quarter.

15 months ago I was able to get my Kubota at almost 17 percent below MSRP but times and prices have changed a lot recently. I would certainly shop around.

there is a thread on here about some equine membership which gets a 10% discount

I think the Equine discount gets you 20% off, but there is some add back and shuffling of costs for dealer prep, etc. Should likely net you more than a 5% discount from MSRP though!

Supply and demand... Check a few other dealers for sure; but... you picked one of the best tractors on the market!

I agree to shop around, find the dealer who has a bunch on his lot, next years mandatory floor plan will be in his future, and he needs to move out whats on the lot.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. Today I asked for a similar bid, but with an MX5400 Open Cab. That was a better deal. The percentage of List was 8.4%.

Tomorrow, I am going to go to 2 more dealerships.

You will like the MX5400, heavy, plenty of power, comfortable. Are you seeking the hydrostatic transmission? Only option in my opinion, fits my needs for loader, rotary cutter, and grapple work for 30 acres in North Texas.

Last tractor... that's what I said 2 years ago. Actually, I told the salesman they would use it to dig my grave. I just paid it off today, so can start saving for something bigger.
