Cold shuts or lap links would run about $1 each.. I usually use the lap links.. easy to apply and stay shut. Even repair the tractor cross links with them.. they hold up quite well for wear.
But not a great expense.. and agree with pmsmechanic.. wiring up long loose ends is a pain. But removing at least one cross link on Mo's chains looks entirely possible for a decent fit. But if Mo likes the chains that way, I've no problem with it. Just thought others seeking a better fit might like to know.
