thanks for sharing, that is a clean install, next level honestly! It gives me something to strive for.

Did you ever get your diverter installed?

Curious how you opted to plumb it and how its working for you?

I did install it a few months back. Pretty straight forward, just takes time to figure out all of the fittings and hose lengths. I went with all JIC fittings, I now see the light as compared to NPT's.

Anyway, I did originally install it so it diverted off of the curl and dump functions. Despite what someone here said, it worked terribly using the regen function. I was able to push past the detent on the regen dump, and then it would behave properly. That was a huge pain though, as it had no clamping power unless I pushed past the detent. Every once in awhile it would cycle the cylinder in the wrong direction.... I swapped it over a few weeks back, now it works off of the raise and lower functions. It works perfectly now, and I don't find it an issue to operate this way, just takes a little getting used to.

I will most likely add a separate true third function to the front, to complement the diverter. Some things are nice to be able to feather, and some work better with the magic on and off buttons.

Once you get used to it, it will be like second nature.

Regen valves have their place and there is a reason they are used. It just doesnt make sense to use a diverter off of them.

Did you try reversing your connections when it was still on the curl circuit? The only time I had those problems was when I had them hooked up backwards from the curl cylinders (i.e. extend port on curl cylinder needs to divert to extend port on grapple cylinder etc.)

Sometimes it wouldn't work at all and sometimes I had the problems you described when they were connected wrong.

Weird. I was that "someone". Mine works perfectly fine off dump/curl circuit... :confused3::confused:

I did switch them. It was tolerable when hooked up the one way, but I still had to push past the detent to get any amount of force.

No worries! I knew I could change to the raise and lower circuit if I had to.

Grands have a 4 stage curl/cump valve. Going from far left to far right... Curl, stop, regen dump, power dump. Economy machines only have a 3 stage valve & lack power dump. So going far right will make a Grand valve running a cylinder on a diverter run "correctly". Regardless of it being a single acting or double acting cylinder. But not with a valve on an economy machine. Those won't ever run a pair of single acting cylinders (well it will, but only in 1 direction).
