Good post, you did use a big word though. Might be a good idea to explain this as there seem to be some simple-minded that might not know what that means.

But he did define asymptomatic.
His statement: "never show any signs of it even though they are contagious"

Polyunsaturated?

Well, folks, I'd hate to see this thread turn into a slug-fest, so back to wishing Eddie and his wife a speedy recovery.

I'm old enough to remember polio. I'm gettin the vaccine ASAP!

And I'm so old I HAD polio before they knew what it was. So, yep, I'll try the vaccine ASAP, too.

I dont mind wearing a mask, just aggravated by the country/source of the virus and that partys lack of EMPATHY for the rest of the world having to deal with it, especially after that same country bought up most of the worlds PPE.
Anyway, at what point/where is it ok to remove your mask? Am I unpatriotic if I dont wear a mask while taking a brisk walk passing maybe only 1 or 2 people at some point in my rural neighborhood?

I got the old lady shaking her virtue-signaling head in disgust at me the other day whil taking a walk with nobody else in sight.
Maybe she didnt like the fact that I had nicer teeth and I was showing them off. :D

I don't bother with a mask unless I will be in extended contact with someone within 10' (indoors or out, but indoors is worse). And you can sort of continue that line of thinking to plan ahead for certain situations to have a mask ready but not necessarily wear it the whole time. I do agree that some people go to the other extreme just as well. There is a very reasonable middle ground on this. It's a prophylactic, so just think of the other common uses of that word and how often you'd wear one!

I wear a mask almost all the time that I am around anyone other than my immediate family. But I also wear glasses, and they fog up with every breath.

Is there an alternative that I could use so that I can actually see while protecting myself and others?

Try and seal the mask better around the bridge of your nose, and try wearing the glasses as far out on you nose as comfortable. You can also get anti-fog spray and wipes for glasses. I used to use that on my ski goggles when ice fishing and snowmobiling in extreme weather. It worked well.

Today is day 10 of having Covid and it's the first day that I feel noticeably better. I still have pressure on my skull, my joints are still achy and my muscles still feel worn out, but not as bad as they have been. I haven't had a fever in a week now, and overall, the most common issue has just been fatigue. My wife lost her sense of smell and taste, but overall, she is doing a lot better then I am with energy and strength. We had a few cookies last night and she found the chocolate mint to be the most surprising. She said that she could tell it was mint by how her mouth reacted to it, but the overall taste was disgusting to her. She isn't eating like she should because she can't enjoy the food, and then she gets over hungry and has to force herself to eat.

We've both enjoyed and appreciated everyone's well wishes and wanted to say thank you for taking the time to post them.

Merry Christmas

Just received the phone call and it's official. I did the nasal swab last Friday. It wasn't too bad, but it's not something that I want to do again. They only tested me, even though my wife was in the car with me. They came out to the car and the RN did it all through the window with me sitting in the passenger seat. They took pictures of my ID and insurance card. They asked permission to sign my name on the documents. I never touched anything except the swab that went up my nostril.

My first symptom was last Monday, when I was working on a clients attic and every time I walked by their dryer vent, I thought the smell of their laundry detergent would make me pass out. It made my eyes water, my throat gag, and I felt light headed. It only happened while I walked by the vent, otherwise I felt fine. It was very odd, but I never thought it was a symptom of Covid.

The next morning I woke up feeling week, but I thought it was from going up and down the attic stairs so many times. Wore out from a good workout. As I drank my morning coffee with every intention of going to work, my wife said that my color was off and that I looked sick. I didn't feel sick, but she is a RN with a PhD in nursing, so I do what she says. I called my client and told them that I wasn't feeling well. They are both medical doctors and agreed that I should stay home. Later that day I started to feel off. A little achy and then a fever of 99.7

Tylenol took care of the fever, but then I developed random, moving around, severe skin irritation. It would be on my legs, then my arms, then my back, or my feet or even my ears. I never got diarrhea, or a runny nose, shortness of breath or a bad cough, or anything flu like. It's all a bunch of weird stuff that leaves me worn out.

A couple days later my wife started to feel some of the symptoms. Since she had Colon Cancer 3 years ago, and she has asthma, it seems to have gotten into her lungs more then me. In fact, all of her symptoms are different then mine. What is the same is how it comes and goes. It's like a wave, when you feel wore out, and then you start feeling better again. We have been working around the good and bad parts of the wave to take care of the animals, get firewood, eat, clean house, and then just sit in front of the TV, sleep, and surf the web. When a bad spell hits, I just sit on the sofa and wait it out.

Treatment is Tylenol. We're told that if we get worse, then we can come in to the Emergency. Otherwise, we just wait it out and self quarantine.

Good luck. My sister and BIL both got it early in the year. They're okay now.
