In the early days they tried anything. Antibiotics were one thing they tried. Zinc. Hydrochloroquine. Ex-Lax. You name it, they tried it. It turned out methyl prednisone cuts the inflammation, remdesivir shortens recovery, ventilators kill as many as they save, so they are a last resort, etc. Immune globulin is good, monoclonal antibodies will be great as soon as they synthesize a few tons of a very complex molecule, and we're all hopeful about vaccines.
Veterinarians have been working on coronavirus vaccines for years and haven't been able to come up with one that offers long-lasting immunity, but maybe the RNA vaccines will work. The vet vaccines that worked best were modified live virus, which are dangerous. I have an MD friend who got the covid four months ago, and was tested for antibodies last week. Nothing. Nada. Veterinary coronavirus vaccines have been judged not worth the effort. Maybe the human vaccines will be better, but I suspect we'll need frequent booster shots for them to work.
Anybody watch US Farm Report on RFDTV? A few months ago, John Phipps mentioned that he expects mask wearing to become a sign of respect. Going bare faced in public will mean "Screw You" to everyone you meet. If everybody wore masks, we would not have an epidemic, so we are doing it to ourselves.
Eddie, you and the Mrs. are in my prayers. Since you, at one time, felt well enough to think about the goat barn, I want to share some Christmas cheer and show you my Christmas present.

Merry Christmas hugs, Brandi
Yes ... and we should pause to consider exactly what it is that we are doing to ourselves:
By making contagion of the virus widespread - by willful lack of use to effective measures to limit or contain it - we are basically making the human race a Petri dish ... allowing the virus many more opportunities to mutate.
And there's absolutely no guarantee that it won't mutate into something significantly worse than it currently is, which is certainly bad enough.
And now the mask police come out. Guess Eddie's thread about him having covid will be closed due to the mask police.
I had covid. I didn't wear a cheap Chinese mask, and I don't intend to start
If you choose to believe in a cheap Chinese mask. By all means wear one.
I don't believe in cheap Chinese mask, and not going to wear one.
Cousins in Mississippi were so afraid of getting covid, they wore mask everywhere.
They still ended up with covid.
It's out there, If you don't get it, consider yourself lucky, not due to a cheap chinese made mask
The masks are to keep you from coughing droplets out into the air. You wear them to protect others, not yourself.![]()
