I just added 29 gallons of windshield washer fluid to each rear tire on my CK2610. Initially I thought this was just going to be a small add-on to the 680lbs/box blade I always carry, but it turned out to be more than that.

Actually adding the fluid was not too bad. I used the special valve stem adapter, a 12V bilge pump with PLENTY of flow for the job, a few hose clamps and 3/4" clear vinyl tubing.. I figure a few hours per tire. Mostly sitting there, making sure the 5 gallon bucket remains reasonably full, and stopping the pump and relieving the pressure every few minutes.

The bottom line is it significantly changed the tractor dynamics. Before the WWF ballast I could not stall the tractor on firm ground, even with 4X4 engaged and 680lbs of box blade "ballast". All wheels would eventually spin in low range. With the WWF ballast I can now stall the tractor if I am not careful, which means I am finally putting all the power to the ground. The bottom line is the WWF ballast is quite the value upgrade, especially if you get the WWF on sale. IIRC I paid around $2.20 CAD a gallon. Something I would recommend to all CK2610 owners, unless you have to worry about lawn compression and ruts.

Thanks for sharing your story. I bought a ballast box to add some traction to my L2501 and perhaps compensate just a bit for the weight of the loader on the front. I have considered filling rear tires as well. I still may.

My ck2610 doesn’t have the power. I’d be afraid to add anymore weight. Mine has a hard time pulling my grandson in a toboggan.

Unless your grandson is really fat and by toboggan you mean 16 ft harrow, something is wrong with your CK2610...

I'll admit it is not a powerhouse in high gear, but it's not supposed to be. In low gear it has beat up/pushed over every sapling I have pitted against it. In it's weight and power class I find it more than adequate.

Definitely going to get the dealership to look at it.

Great idea. In moderate to soft soil, you should be able to spin the tires. Make sure you're in low gear though. High gear is more for transport. I wind up using high gear intermittently, but with how bumpy the ground is and how little "give" the frame of the tractor (and my rear-end) has, it makes for a very rough ride. Low is good for ground engagement. Medium is good for just about everything else.

Thanks, medium is what I use for finish mowing. It does pretty well until I go up a Slight incline. That痴 when she falls flat. I guess I値l just have to get used to it.
