Tractor Supply - how does it work?? (rant)

Probably why credit card debt is out of control in this country as well. Hopscotching from one card to another still leaves you with the debt to pay and the credit card companies raking in the finance charges.

I like the high credit score I have. My credit score hovers around 820 all the time.

So is mine... And I just scored $1200 dollars worth of Makita 18volt tools for free because of my cash back on my Amazon card.

We have been buying pet supplies and food from Amazon for years.

I buy Lance crackers on Amazon, by the box... Always nice to have a little treat blowing down the road in my truck.

So......I use 3 different cards, and I have paid them each off monthly for years,.....and that is somehow NOT a good thing?
I LOVE my cards!
They make me $1.200+ FREE cash each year!
My credit card debt IS "out of control"?
Yah think?
For me, there has NEVER been any credit card debt "out" anywhere, to "control".

My credit score "hovers around 820 all the time" also!
I LOVE FREE MONEY !!!!

Love my wife and my son and that is about it. I don't love a credit card, I USE a credit card. Nothing more.

You obviously did not understand the colloquial intent!
Please change the word "love", to appreciate, or enjoy, and you will likely understand the intent.

I love a credit card as long as it's not mine and I have unlimited authorization.

Yo .u will do better at your local farmers co-op called WILCO. We have one up here and they run circles around the two TSC stores in the area. Bulk bolts are 30% cheaper and larger selection. Way over priced on everything. WILCO also gives a 10% military discount which TSC refuses to match. Big deal for me.

Ron

That't where I go but it's about 20 miles from me . . , I usually just go to a 3 generation farm store that is about miles from us for our dog food and feed ect.

TSC seems to be going the way of Radio Shack as far as brick and mortar stores.
If im trying to make a one stop shop for a variety of items I will hit Murdoch's or Bomgars, other wise I'll go to a product specific store, shop, etc.

I wonder why they just built that new store not far from me . . .

They are still building stores, I was meaning that they just don't stock all the items that I was going there for, for years (mostly ag related)
Similar to the way Radio Shack quit stocking restitors, diods, switches, etc and in the end seamed geard to mostly cell phones .

I needed some blasting media. So I physically went in to TSC (an 80 mile drive) - none in stock. So I order it online while in the parking lot, mistakenly figuring it may take days to get there. I get an email on my way home that it's ready for pickup. And they only hold it for 2 days and they count the day you receive the email as day 1. So I call them up - sorry.

Now I could understand if it was livestock or maybe even plants, but sand or bolts?

My local TSC doesn't have everything stocked and inventoried right. I wanted a sliding barn door track. The store was out, but inventory said it was there. Since inventory said it was there, I couldn't order one. The next hour, the salesgirl that helped me, found one in back behind sacks of feed.

They probably got it from a nearby auto paint store. That's where I always got mine. About all I ever get from TSC anymore is nuts and bolts. Or if I'm there, they have it in stock and I need it now. Like a 3-point boom, which they didn't. They've shed a lot of there stock. I remember when the store nearest me (35 mile round trip) opened up. It was in the heart of farm country and they had everything in stock. I walked in there many times and they had it on the shelf. They once had the 4 different hydraulic hoses I needed. Today, you're lucky if they have four hydraulic hoses on the shelf--In total. Ordering takes too long and most times charge you shipping. I guess I'm spoiled by Amazon. :2cents:

Everytime I go to TSC for nuts and bolts................the size I want are zero stock. Always seems to me they are deleting what I need and stocking more urban stuff. My store(s) have plastic kayaks now and stuff that you should find at a sporting goods store.

Actually, no. I have one card (Kroger Mastercard) and it gives me points for groceries and points for gas discount and the unpaid balance rate is substantially lower... 18%. I don't carry a balance as a rule anyway.

My philosophy is why have a bunch of plastic when one card will do.

If you do not carry a balance the interest rate does not matter. If you shop a lot at TSC their card is great. You get 5% back as an in store coupon. Way better than the 1-2% most cards give.

My wife is a member of the TSC shopping club so she gets coupons in her email anyway. Think it's called 'Neighbor Club' I don't carry a balance on any card. I use a card for the convenience of not paying in cash or writing a check.

I'd prefer an RK store here but not happening. RK has a better selection and they have guns too.

I agree TCS leaves a bit to be desired, but they do come through in the clutch sometimes. Lost the little quick coupler button rod thing on my PTO shaft where it attaches to the tractor. They had the part I needed and the lady let me go in the back room to use their work bench to see if it fit and was the right one. They definitely have lots of things your normal hardware store or feed and seed do not have and for that I appreciate them. I wish we had a Rural King closer. Nearest one is an hour away.

Case in point... The Lovejoy coupling (jaw type coupling) sheared its teeth on my log splitter. My local Tractor Supply 10 minutes away has the one I need. Rather than wait for Amazon to get it to me in 8 days or pay high shipping charges from some other mail order retailer I will be driving down to TS at lunch to pick up the part I need. THAT is why TS works. Today I am grateful for Tractor Supply.

They are not going to change. Blains built a huge new store next door, it will be good for a while till they adopt "managers". Hard to tell tsc managers from clerks and they know more about stuff than most other people do. ****** system that comes from the top down
Managers scared of the uppers.

The manager at my local TSC is awesome. He is very knowledgable as are some of the folks he employs. Some of their cashiers are about as dumb as a box of rocks. Thankfully they have a good web site so I can find what I need and see if it is in stock before I drive over there. Sadly it is the closest "farm store" to where I am. Heard we were supposed to get a Big R but that was pre covid so who knows.

I didn't realize TS carried Lovejoy couplings...needed to replace the one on my logsplitter a few years ago, ended up having to get a replacement online from some outfit that charged more in shipping than the part cost. Wish I'd known...

I also have no issues with TS. I haven't noticed any more out of stocks there than anywhere else...certainly no worse than HF or even Walmart. Blame it on covid I guess.
Yeah, the staff isn't always particularly knowledgeable (and turnover is high) but that's retail in the 21st century. :confused3:

All my concerns with TSC started way before covid. Count yourself lucky if you have no problems with them or trying to order online.

Tractor Supply... Where everything is either scratched, dented or broken and the 'associates' know little about what the store sells. Great place to shop. Only thing we get there is bird seed, alfalfa pellets and occasionally diesel additive.

Fondly referred to as 'Tough ****te Charlies' around here.
