The longer this takes the cheaper it sounds to have somebody else do it next time.

Just think of all the fun your having..

The fun starts tomorrow when the BX arrives to help lift the 100lb wall caps (i lifted about 20 of them today, brutal) and grade down the back yard to prep for the pavers.

The home depot is walking distance from this house but let's call it a labor of love.

So far 89 man hours are into this wall. Not too bad, we just have caps to go now.

That's true for almost every project I do, yet I keep starting new ones.

Worst case, de wall craps out in few years, you get to take full credit instead of just blaming contractor like most.

Best case, you reached out past normal comfort zone and grabbed on for de ride. Now you know you can generally do instead of just piss and moan you don't know how. Worst thing you did wrong so far was not setting up hot tub first so you can soak sore out of back at end of day. Lot to be said for hot tub, more if it got girls in place and 1 of girls is massage therapist.

Wouldn't go so far as to say this is out of my comfort zone except for the discomfort caused by lifting the blocks.

Just curious. What do your block lifting handles look like? My wall had half height caps, much easier to lift, but still a finger smasher since I couldn't use the handles.

It is a very satisfying feeling to put on that row of caps.

You're not using the thing 4" thick wall top caps that you glue on? They're nice and light compared to the main blocks.
