L6060 Cab Questions

I paint the tips of my forks something high contrast. Cheap old white spray paint at the moment as it gets scraped off somewhat fast. The tips are about a foot below the hood out of sight when on the ground & looking over the hood. Not ideal, but I can get them into a pallet leaning to the side or using dead reckoning.

I suspect for most going from open station to a cab requires some getting used to. I was surprised with the good visibility in the cab in general. I can see between the hood and loader arms to hook up ssqa attachments, but I've never been able to see the fork ends on any tractor.
There are several threads here on TBN about camera installations. I'm eventually going to install a 7" screen and front and rear cameras... Likely just under the cab roof looking down.

I have a 5460 which is the same tractor and loader as the 6060. Operating the FEL at full height has not been an issue for me. I lean slightly forward and can see. When using the quick attach I can see between the hood and loader arms.

My issue is the hood is so tall I cannot see the edge of the bucket, forks, or grapple. My previous tractor was a Mahindra and it had great visibility when using the FEL. One of these days I’m going install a front mounted camera so I don’t have to guess at where the front edge of my bucket is at.

Last month, when the dealer placed my order for the L6060 HSTC, with cab, he was told by Kubota there was a 2 month backlog. Luckily, he found one at a dealership in a nearby state who was willing to part with it. The tractor arrived at the dealer yesterday and I got my first view from inside the cab. This raised another question.

Not only does the roof of the cab block the view of the FEL at full height but the cab also prevents viewing the FEL at ground level. This makes it difficult to align the FEL QA when installing an implement or viewing your fork tips. Normally, I would stand up on the deck of the open station tractor (Yes, I bypassed the operator presence safety switch) and get a clear view of the QA & implement or forks. Obviously, this isn't possible with a cab so how do you "cabbies" perform this maneuver? Hopefully, it doesn't involve getting on and off the tractor multiple times.

The dealer had an M7060 on the showroom floor that had a camera system installed which gave a clear view of both the FEL and 3 PT hitch. There was no camera option available for the L6060 so can anyone recommend a good aftermarket camera or other work around for this blind spot problem?

The quick attach plate can be viewed from the seat when connecting to loader accessories. I had an M7060, there is no camera option available from Kubota, without a camera you can't see the quick attach plate. I bought Touch Cam kits from my friendly Kubota dealer and installed them on my L6060 and the M7060 that I had, then seeing pallet fork tips is duck soup. In order for a tall guy to stay seated and see the loader bucket in the fully raised position, you are going to have to position yourself accordingly or find a taller cab, which lends itself to other issues.

I’ve got a cabbed L6060 and would agree with most comments. I’ve got the stock seat, and it is quite comfortable for me. The vinyl isn’t an issue as the climate control is excellent, so you never get cold or sweaty.
I did swap out the OEM work lights for Tigerlight LED’s. If you don’t get the rear work lights, you will have to add the wiring and switch yourself. Keep in mind that the rear and side defrosters come with a higher output 100 amp alternator as well.
I added paint marker lines on the SSQA Levers so I have a vertical line showing the inboard edge of the adapter when the levers are up. I also added mating lines to some attachments that were hard to see. Now it’s an easy job to change attachments.
I also added the single lever hydraulic disconnects for the loader and the third function. It literally takes 2 minutes to mount or dismount the loader with that connector.

If I have to see forks I raise the steering wheel all the way up and sit on the forward edge of seat. I put seat cover on my stock seat.

The wiring for the rear lights is already there. You just need the light & switch. If you go with non-Kubota lights, you either need to find the funky OEM style weather resistant spade connector or cut it off & put on a better one that matches the LEDs.

The defrost gear doesnt come with the high output alternator, but the build site or a competent dealer should force you to select the high output alternator option if you select any of the defrost options.

My dealer recommended the upgraded alternator (90a), but I declined. I ordered front and rear lights, rear glass defroster only (not quarter glass). After switching the work lights to led, and replacing all bulbs to led, fully lit I'm drawing about 27 amps.

That's not including the defroster grid which I'm sure is a big load. With all lights and defroster on the voltage still remains between 13.5-13.8v, which tells me I haven't quite exceeded the alternator capacity. Anyway, after almost 5 years of use I haven't had any battery or alternator problems. I probably should do the alternator upgrade though.

You are correct that the alternator doesn’t come with the defrost gear, it’s a separate kit that the build site says is required with the heated glass.
The Tigerlight LED work lights come with the connectors to mate with the Kubota harness.
