This was my First tractor, first cab, and very happy. L3560HSTC TLB in 2020.
Being a newbie I did get the spill guard option for the FEL.
I had been through the age old process of buying most everything in this category used.
But I just couldn’t see myself with a hydraulic leak every few months especially in the winter. Add a failure of this or a failure of that… and pretty quickly it comes down to having availability of the machine when you need it, not when you need it AND when it’s working right.
But still… I priced out a used 2012 3940 with cab/FEL at that time (2020) 2600 hours that fell at about $24000.
So I was spending another $16,000 to go new with 2 year warranty at 0%. I was fine with that. I then added about $10k for the 9’2” Backhoe taking it to $50k.
Total : $603/month for 72 months.
If your thinking of a do it all machine in all types of weather, then one of the most important decisions for many (like myself) is making sure that we understand that a cab is not necessarily too expensive.
When I switched to looking for new only units, I was looking at the open cab, because I “thought” those great looking
L3560’s or 4060’s with a cab on the lots were $60,000 to $70,000 machines… so I steered clear.
Believe me when I say they are NOT necessarily that expensive !
Especially since the
L3560 has done every single thing I have asked of it in the 1.5 years and the 600 hours I’ve owned it.
Maybe you need the
L6060, maybe not. Maybe you can work the
L3560 or 4060 Limited Edition AND get a backhoe for the same cost of upgrading to the
L6060…
Without the backhoe an
L3560 was $40,000 with an 805 loader and the glass/defrost/amp/lights/wiper options. That’s $550/month.
I’m so glad I did the new
L3560 HSTC, the cab has made the difference in comfort on those extremely humid/buggy days and extremely cold days as well. The single most important thing I did right!
Sometimes the money we may save by not getting what we may need or want is ultimately spent in dissatisfaction for making the wrong choice early on.
