Sounds like the US taxpayers will be overpaying for new vehicles.

Why you said that?

That is the way these things work. Government orders arbitrary action. Then is forced to spent any amount of money the captive sellers demand. They know the buyer has been ordered to buy.

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

The news for hydrogen fuel cells keeps coming. The phasing out of Natural Gas usage over time is going to free up fossil fuel infrastructure for greener options.

Hydrogen thing took big step back few years ago when Hydrogen fuel station blew apart back end of Rochester Airport. GM paid to remove resedue and den moved Hydrogen lab out of town fast. Speculation is GM not real good in Hydrogen after dey showed how good it worked getting Congressman from Rochester to Swamp in Hydrogen car. Dey needed 5 hydrogen cars, 3 trailers and 3 pickups to make trip cause dey got no idea AirGas sells Hydrogen along de route.

Now GM got new electric from coal car coming out. Dey even pretty sure you can park in in garage attached to house unlike Chevy Volt self lighting model. Keep your fingers crossed.

I expect it will be 2050 before the non fossil fuels subplants fossel fuels. If Ford and GM are going to have a shot of staying in the business they will need to be leading the EV industry by 2030 in the $20K to $30K price range for EVs. New car sales are going to tank when many players are pushing out the Robotaxi concept mid 20's. Apple is setting on more cash than all auto makers in the world perhaps. They understand the value of cash holdings maybe down by 50% by 2030. Bill Gates is the person holding the largest number of acres of farmland in the USA for a reason. The stock market is over the top because people know Zero or negative interest rates are knocking the kids inheritance in the head. With some investment firms seeing Tesla heading to $2500 per share it is still a low risk stock long term until they have real competition.
