Thanks for the links, now I have options to investigate.
It would be nice for the Honda to handle the essential loads in eco mode and get 30~40 hours out of 5 gallons of gasoline.

I've not used any of the single phase Altistart units, I'll have a read of some datasheets this evening and report back on how well they might work with your fan motor and generator. I just finished commissioning a 3 phase Altistart for the 30hp motor on the wood splitter I'm building.

Good stuff TM .

IIRC, in/around that time you also got that minor carb problem resolved too.

Yep it was not starting well. Had to pull the recoil starter and then fire the electric starter. Seafoam seems to have fixed that. They were predicting ice followed by 6 inches of snow here overnight Monday into Tuesday so wanted to be ready. Since I was ready we got no ice and about an inch of snow. I woke up early to plow the drive. No need to do so. Say around with a cup of coffee and enjoyed the quiet.

EDIT: Also adjusted the set screw for how rich the fuel mixture is. Runs smooth with no choke now too. I suspect I'll have to readjust it come summer.

I had a read through the data sheets on the Altistart 01: Seems to be same operation for both single and 3 phase motors. Given your application (generator power and starting a fan) I wouldn't enable the BOOST function.

Another one for Team Seafoam

Won't fix broken parts, or totally plugged jets, but is a nice labour-saver for the rest.....

Power went out at 9:15 pm as wind picked up and restored just as I was leaving the house at 3:30 am.

Gas water heater keeps working power or no power... so not much to complain but generator at ready had it remained off when home for lunch to keep refrigeration.

dont you love having the option of having power at least. i guess they shut power off on purpose? due to the winds?

Not this time... the wind toppled trees and limbs...

Above ground distribution is vulnerable... especially on 1920 utility poles...
