Times change. Values change. I stand in a Pizza joint and can't believe what I witness, people ordering pizza and bottles of water. I would scoop the snow off my vehicle, before I bought a bottle of water! I mean. I might buy a value priced package of bottled water for certain uses.

The small engine fuel is spendy but well worth it. I was able to find a non-ethanol source almost an hour away that I fill a half dozen cans a couple of times a year for my heavy consumption engines. All two stroke, all generators get SEF94.
That canned gas is stupid expensive & overpriced for what it is. $7-8 or more per gallon instead of $2-4. But a gallon or 2 per year on my weed eater easily beats anually rebuilding the carb because of ethanol gas. Less worth it if you run a lot of gas through your machine a lot & use it frequently.

No kidding. Who would have thought that we would be paying more for water than gas !

you guys are nuts. i buy the cheapest ethanol fuel i can find, and drain the carbs, been doing it for 15+ years ( we had ethanol for as long as i can remember), 0 issue. not sure why this is such a foreign concept to people. i prolly have 20+ engines, none of them have issues

Some say, things dry out if you do that. When consumers are just the prey in a huge system, what do you expect?

Sort of related. But when you see that food and drink packaging seems to be of FAR higher quality than the consumer products we buy.

Honda and Yamaha make a great product. At a lower price point, if I was in the market for EFI I'd be checking out this Generac:

I used to run my carbs dry, but switched after having to take one carb apart due to a stuck float. Around that time, I was storing my then-new street bike over-winter wet (with fuel) - that worked well so I switched all my small seasonal engines to to wet-carb storage, tanks full of stabilized fuel.

I'm fortunate that I can by e-free hitest at Costco. For the volume I go through (not that high, compared to a commercial operation), the cost difference is minimal, and at times the Costco Hitest price is not that far off what other stations charge for regular gas.

Regional fuel formulations vary..... what practices work well in one geography won't necessarily work well somewhere else....... once you figure out your optimum process...... all is well .

I used to drain mine also. The gaskets dried out and leaked next season. Now I buy ethanol free fuel. It is only $.75 per gallon more here In idaho than regular fuel. Lots of stations carry it for boats. Its a no brainer. I only use about 10 gal a year. That痴 like $8.

Its only used in chainsaw, weed eater and snow blower

All vehicles use reg gas as they don稚 sit.

Manufacturers have an endless selection of materials. Why would they choose materials that deteriorate in the absense of fuel? Can so many people really be that stupid or evil?

Think about it. What can the soft parts of a carb cost at manufacturing level? Maybe fifty cents for the cheapest material to five dollars for the best material. I'm disgusted at the GREED!
