Re: How痴 Eddie?

Oh I think a strong, positive leader with a message of TRUE unity, could take this country to places of grandeur.

I can agree with that .... but the real question is: if such a person existed what incentive would they have to run for office?

Their life is likely to be shredded, every decision and statement they make will be dissected and spun to suite whatever agenda the reporting organization has, and play ground politics (complete with name calling) seems to be the order of the day .... and based on what entertainment is popularly viewed it'd seem what many desire.

Toss in how many people seem to want a leader to solve all of their problems and it'd seem like an impossible task in toxic work conditions ...and I don't see that changing any time soon as too many are too focused on screaming, name calling and just fighting each other in general rather than taking responsibility for their own actions. Change and the acceptance of it always start at the individual, and it must be appropriate for the (local/immediate) situation otherwise it's pretty pointless and futile. Perhaps others have seen it, but I can't recall seeing a case where anyone has happily accepted changes that were forced upon them (especially if the reasons for the change were never explained).

...but then that might just be my perception which admittedly may not be worth the :2cents: :confused3:

You are correct. We did have a guy who laughed at all of that and just kept on going, but he is gone now.
Moving forward, youd think that getting rid of calling anyone who disagrees with you all these awful descriptors (fascist, racist, etc) would be a nice first step at getting back to normal.
Dont see that happening based on current social media and leadership language.
We need an adult in the room.

We are off topic. Back to Eddie.

Yes please do not politicize this thread. There are plenty of other places for legitimate opinions.

Can we leave this thread for checking up on one another?

Thanks

Re: How痴 Eddie?

I had pneumonia a year ago October. Sometimes it just happens. :confused3:

A friend of mine has pneumonia right now. Actually kind of similar to my Covid symptoms.
Body aches, cough, dizziness, tired.

Re: How痴 Eddie?

Neighbors said they took turns in Feb with something that fit Covid symptoms and laid each one out for several days, suggested they'd had it.

I'd spent plenty of time with them and didn't catch what they had.

What scares me is that Gary would surely pass on a vaccine. 50 yrs old, afraid of needles, and always gets his way.

Re: How痴 Eddie?

...
Last week my dad, who is 84 and he's had cancer twice, started to have symptoms for Covid. He is very tired, dizzy, and he's having breathing issues. He did the nasal test and came back negative. They had the results in one day, while my results took 3 days. He has gotten a lot worse, so he went into the ER and they said that he has mild pneumonia and that he was dehydrated. They also did another nasal test because he seems to have Covid, but that test also came back negative. It's a mystery why he has pneumonia? Are the tests wrong?

My dad had a very bad fever over Christmas. 105F degrees and it knocked him for a loop as one would expect. Very tired and dizzy BUT no breathing issues. He was in rough shape and the long story short is he spent five days in the hospital. :( MULTIPLE tests for The Virus and all negative. His lungs where clear too, thankfully, so no pneumonia. They have no idea what he had, other than an infection, so they pumped him full of antibiotics and fluids until he recovered. He is fine now. Thank goodness for antibiotics. I think he would have died without them.

His personal doctor, nor the doctors in the hospital, have a clue as to what he had, other than some infection. Nobody else in the family was sick. Not a sniffle, sneeze or cough. Go figure.

Hope your dad gets well soon.

Later,
Dan

Its probably pneumonia (still very serious). With Covid dominating all news and other illnesses, I think some of the traditional winter illnesses have all but been forgotten.

Agreed..

Eddie, glad you and your wife are getting better.

Do you know if they tested your father for the flu?
