You'd think getting the clothes clean would have tipped you off!
Learned something new today. I'd never heard of a toilet mixing valve. Must be a northern thing? Though my dad did run hot to a toilet once by mistake. He never lived it down.![]()
Probably yes!
That could get spendy after a number of years....good thing you found it.
If that were to continue for a long time.....and I knew about it...
I could simply wear dirty clothes.
I once wore the same coveralls for 9 hot and sweaty days.
The Navy made me do it!
A toilet mixing valve works great to prevent toilet tank sweating.
Toilets sweat, both North, and South.
I finally figured it out that it had failed, with the help of so many helpful TBN friends.
Amazon..... "Anti sweat toilet valve"...$20.06.
I'll get one tomorrow, at my local plumbing supply store.
They are an often installed item around here, but failure is not common.
This one was 40+ years old though, so guess it was time.
I once heard a story about a new recruit who was in a long line outside and had to pee. He was afraid to get out of line and even to ask permission. When he couldn't hold it any longer he let it run down his pants leg. For some reason or other he didn't get to change clothes for several days.
