Because of one of my careers, I will be in a position to get the vaccine soon but I am on the fence about it.
- My age is in the sorta, might be risky cohort, but I am in great shape and no underlying health issues.
- I think I had, or was exposed, to the virus a year ago this month. If I had the virus, why get the shot?
- I have been taking vitamin D every day for years. This really minimizes a chances of getting the virus, and almost gives one a zero chance of a serious illness, much less death. More on this in a bit.
- The vaccines are a new method, they have been rushed into service, rightfully so, but are there long term risks?
Given the above, Take the Shot Or Not Take the Shot Is the Question. Don't really know what I will do but certainly will wait due to the shortage of the jab. There are far more people needing it than me.
I have mentioned Dr. Campbell before, I THINK in this discussion, anyway I will post a link to him and people can watch his videos. He is a UK doctor who has been posting info about the virus. He has had quite a few videos discussing research regarding the virus and vitamin D. The video below talks about a study that showed a 34% reduction in getting the virus for people who are habitually taking a vitamin D supplement. Vitamin D does a bunch of things that fight against respiratory illnesses and this had been know for quite some time. Watching one of his earlier videos discussing vitamin D fights off respiratory illnesses and comparing to the virus is an eye opener. Many people, if not most people, in the industrial world are going to have vitamin D deficiency. I DID at one time even though I thought I was getting enough sun exposure and was eating foods high in vitamin D. My blood work was a 17 and should have been 30 or above. Having a vitamin D level under 30, and getting the virus ,means you are going to have a rough time and high chance of dying.
Watch Dr. Campbell's videos and decide for yourself.
Later,
Dan
