6 degrees here this morning and light snow. Yes it is accumulating. The Big stuff is predicted for tomorrow, then down in the deep freeze. Supposed to be -8. And to us down here in pineapple land, that is really really cold. I went out yesterday as the ice cap had mostly sublimed off with the sunshine we had, I used the 4 wheel drive and had no trouble in the lane and the road where the county had treated them were dry. But I am glad this coming event will be a snow event not an ice storm like we often get.

Went out to get firewood from the garage (where I put it temporarily to keep it from being buried under snow) and realized I hadn't attached the battery charger to one car when I got back the other day. I drive so rarely that I need trickle chargers on both of them. Went to do that and raised the hood, only to find it wouldn't stay up without a makeshift prop rod.

0 degrees today. Wind chill -16. 5 or 6 inches of snow on the ground, More coming down, and much more expected over the next couple of days. Supposed to be in the negative digits overnight, with wind chills maybe -20 or lower. Folks that is getting really really cold for us pineapple growers here in the "south".

luckly its been sunny, the greenhouse is doing ok. my 12 drums of water freeze a bit at night and are unfrozen by the next afternoon.

nearly all of my crews across tx, ok, nm, co have shut down for weather, my crew in north Dakota just takes it in stride. ha.

was time I worked for communication co and the M/W dishes would fill with snow so no signal . had installed heaters to heat and melt but only a cone did and still required the hammer to break up the ice slide off.
