10W30 Diesel Oil Recommendations?

Excellent for older engines. Although in 15W40 I thought their new signature max duty had a slight edge. YMMV.

Haven't used that one yet. Wish they still had a straight 30wt.

As for shelf life. doubt there really is one other than if it sits long enough it becomes obsolete for newer engines.

according to amsoil that isn't the case. They told me that the additive package in the oil will degrade over time and should not be used after five years.

That is correct.

Most conventional oils only have a shelf life of 2, maybe 3 years.

I stand corrected. I couldn't remember the years so i guessed it was five. I called them and asked this question because i had transmission oil i had purchased from them that i didn't use that was sitting around. I was surprised cause i had always thought it would be good forever if unopened. The oil is not the issue according to them it is the additive package in the oil that breaks down over time.
