Who is gong to brag about having a Timex?

I think it would be the person who used the light in his watch to save his life by being able to find his way out of a burning building. My Timex quit a few years ago after lasting about 15 years for an $80.00 watch. On several occasions when going for lunch with a friend who owned a $35,000.00 watch, I would ask him the time, then look at my watch and say "Gee, mine too". Caught him off guard every time.

To each his own, I guess. But I seriously would give away $35,000.00 to a well deserving person, even a stranger, before I owned a $35,000.00 watch. And some wonder why our society is becoming unglued.

My last three watches were (prices approximate) a $40 Timex, a $40 Timex, and a $40 Timex - they were identical and each lasted 3-5 years as I recall - some rough use. When my last one conked I went looking for the very same watch but they apparently don't make that watch now. Oh well, I found one I liked for $8.80. And I will always know what time it is, just like before.

On a sort of related topic, what happened to Exide? Tractor supply was selling them but now it looks like they are no more.

Exide still exists. I buy directly from exide myself. Maybe there just rebranding them

Exide filed bankruptcy in 2002, 2013 and 2020 when its holdings were liquidated. Atlas Holdings has owned the Exide name and manufacturing since June 2020. Battery Systems owns all of Exide's distribution.

My only experience with AGM has been with motorcycles. Battery went bad in wife's bike last year. I found some Brand X batteries online. AGM, $35 each. So I gambled and bought 2, in case one didn't last or if the battery in my bike went bad.
Figured I didn't have much to lose at that price. Her battery is still functioning. The second one is still new in box, sitting in reserve.

Did not know that. I simply order batteries thru exide. Just like I have for years. They deliver the units to my shop in an exide truck.

I like the AGM batteries my 2015 RAM has one and there is absolutely no corrosion on the terminals it is on it's second battery.
Any battery that doesn't corrode around the terminals and the end of the cables gets my vote.
