AKC says there are many reasons for dogs staring at humans. Maybe they are just lovin on ya. :dog: :eek:die: :dog:

Why Does My Dog Stare At Me? Better Understand Dogs' Staring Behavior

My dogs are all kitchen supervisors when I am cooking.
Our shepherd is a kitchen supervisor. But she gets booted from the kitchen if I'm dealing with something boiling on the stove.

I'm super paranoid about tripping and spilling it on her. But then I'm the same way with kids. If I'm cooking, the kids aren't allowed in it.

It stems from an incident when I was a kid. It didn't happen to me, but to another kid a few years younger then me that went to the same school.

The kids mother was making Spaghetti one night and the kid pulled the pot of boiling water off the stove when she turned her back for just a second.

He was in burn masks and wraps for quite a while and is scarred for life. Just something that stuck with me after seeing his injuries.

Our 3 are crazy over lemonade ice blocks. However they only get a small piece each. Unfortunately they come wrapped so they hear me opening them....
Cheerios are another favourite, however I have to cut them up for one dog as he only has 2 teeth. He was a rescue too.
Lately they are demanding jelly or ice cream. Hard when you are trying to keep the weight off them.
My Pug also loves bananas so he gets a small bit or two. The others eat it too but not as excited about banana as he is.

One of my dogs likes sauerkraut.

One of the "worst" and strangest things I've had one do (and this one wins the all time record for me-life time dog owner) our small yellow lab one time took a fresh turd out of the toilet bowl like he was bobbing for apples, carried it into the living room, and laid down with it and ate it.

That might be lab thing, unfortunately. Both my previous and current dog will eat it if given a chance... and it's not uncommon to find where somebody has "done their business" in the woods.

One of our Boston Terriers, Presley (yeah, Sharn Jean is an Elvis fan) has a habit of needing to go outside to do her business sometimes at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning. I sleep in a recliner in the Living room; so I have to get up and take her out. The other morning, she came up to my chair, and began whining, like she always does...so I got up, retrieved my cane, and when I turned around, she had taken over my chair; was curled up and ready to go to sleep. Some dogs are just too darn smart.

My kid's dog will jump in anybody's seat as soon as they get up. It's not bad if you're going to the kitchen to get a snack or something, but let's say you just get up to reach for the TV remote and BAM! that dog is already in your seat.

Our dog (he passed away in April) was crazy for popcorn.

He could hear the popping from 3 floors away and as soon as the popcorn was in the bowl he was there.

He’d sit by you at attention. Not begging, but very clear what was wanted.

He liked to eat corn by corn.

We miss him.

I've always had 2 dogs at a time, but never had them that they commonly used each other as head rests or lay with front paws intertwined. These two seem to be very unusually fond of each other. The black one is 8 years old and the red one is 2. 20210221_094222.jpg

I buy ready made popcorn for me and microwave popcorn for my wife. Guess whos' popcorn the dogs love. Must be the colour.

Rock Crawler. I love your Oak? cabinet.
My Chinese Crested often uses the Pug as a pillow. :) If he tries it, she grumps and walks away.

Our old weiney dog used to do that to my wife on occasion

We got into a pretty heated argument about whether or not we were being trained by the dog.

Wife was on a roll about how we train the dog and why. About this time Zeus walked up to her, did his treat dance, and with out missing a beat, my wife opened the pantry got him his treat All while saying that we were doing the training

At that point I interrupted her and said "See..... that just proved my argument!! we are being trained!!!"

She looked down at the dog, realized she got him a treat, and I got an "F--- You" for winning the argument

You Surf, You Lose :D

Someone on TBN once said channel surfing is not about what is on TV, it is about what ELSE is on TV.

Not subtle enough. I have found that it's not wise to...metaphorically speaking...hand them their head on a platter. Something like: "Nice little give-me-a-treat dance! Did you teach him that, or did he learn it himself?" and she could have thought about it for a second and you could have made your escape! :D:D:D Admittedly, Sharn Jean is pretty good about pointing out my mistakes, even when they were committed 50 years ago...but it was my job to face the slings and arrows for many years.

My daughter leaves her cats with me when she is away. I have to remember to deadbolt the exterior doors as this guy lets himself out.....

My Cat likes to rub his face on my beard. Pretends it's a sign of affection. I'm no fool though. My beard is just a handy eye-snot removal tool!

Wow. My cat wants out also but hasn’t figured out that trick yet.

Cats are curious (but not so smart) pets. Once, I left the washer top open (top loading) to get some stuff. Came back and the cat is in the washer! He has also jumped behind the dryer.

Hate to think of all the cats that got ino places that they never got out of. A GF once found a dead kitten in with her washed laundry.

Cats are mind readers and will always do the opposite of what you want. Call a cat. to make sure you aren't locking it in somewhere and it will remain silent and hide!

Or they will hide in the ditch for hours and then run in front of the first car that comes along.

Sam, our Shepard mix pound dog - dearly loved but now gone had an endearing habit. We had a bunch of 3" dia ten foot long PVC drain pipes behind the barn. Sam once found that a squirrel was inside a section of the pipe and he chewed up both ends trying to get at it. All he managed to do was terrify the squirrel and make it squeak constantly. So finally he drug the pipe section up to the house (about 300 feet from where he found the pipe) and continued to swing that long pipe back and forth trying to get it out, stopping now and then to look pleadingly at me for help. I heard the squirrel and picked the pipe up vertically and pounded it on the ground until the squirrel popped out which he then caught. Well, after that, I assume he thought I was some sort of magician with the power to pop squirrels out of any pipe sections he brought to me. So he kept dragging pipe sections up into the yard for me to pop squirrels out of. I finally had to build a storage area for the pipe that he could not get to.
