Grandpa, tell me bout the good ole days............

My grandpa took me and a cousin to see a ball game at Tinker Field once up a time. Have not thought of that day and place in decades... Just looked it up and they door Tinker down a few years ago.

Native Floridian am I, grew up in Orlando and can't stand how it is changed. Almost 20 years ago, we drove through downtown Orlando on I4. I had not been through downtown in a decade or so and was completely shocked at all of the sky scrapers. I could not see the church spires on Church Street.

Funny thing is that all of my family used to live in Florida and mostly in and around Orlando. Only my parents still live in the state, the rest have all left. My grandparents moved to FLA after WWII, and when they retired, they moved out of state to NC! :laughing: ALL of their retired neighbors had moved up from FLA. :laughing:

Really don't like what has happened to FLA. Just too much growth and paving over paradise. Course, I suspect that is what the natives here in my area of NC say too.

I took my oldest son to Daytona for Spring Break when he was a senior in HS. We both had a great time.

I was wondering about this when I bought my 2018 Cherokee last month, especially when I started seeing Indian names being replaced in baseball and up here in the past few years mascot name had to be change, how far will politicly correctness go. But for me I'd think it be more of a copyrighted name issue, or can names be copyrighted...........

The purging of Lincoln, Washington, etc. and Logan the oldest High School West of the Mississippi in San Francisco has been put on hold via city of SF sueing its own school district and threat of recall... 47 names found objectionable.

I guess not so in the old days... even Senator Fienstien was objectionable because she replaced a damaged Confederate flag years ago

Cherokee is a nationality. You don't see any Jeep Russian, Jeep Mexican, Jeep French, Jeep Puerto Rican, Jeep Japanese. It's outlived it's time. Time to change it.
