I read this as I am getting ready to go to bed and all that I could think of was that column by the late, great Ed Zern… "Exit Laughing"

Played completely WRONG.

Shoulda looked at kid and said "I member when yer gramma looked like dat, still does in my eyes" Followed wid "wanna give her a beep or you want me to do it"

At 3 granny may have permanently damaged de boy. You either sit woman down and set her straight or turn in Man Card.

I wish I knew how to look without making it obvious. My peripheral vision has always been bad and even if I am wearing sunglasses, my wife catches me instantly.

My wife blames me for looking even if I dont see the lady. She used to backhand me when I was driving, one time knocking my glasses off. She did that a few times and I put a stop to it, I told her one more time and she is walking home. Very dangerous.

Todays Jeep is not your daddy's Jeep, to say the least they have come along way in just the past 20 years and not what I'm use to. I just recently bought a used 2018 Cherokee Latitude and it is 10 miles different then my 04 Liberty, so much so I been looking up some videos on it because I dont dare to drive it yet.

To start with forget the 4x4 levers it's now push buttons and dial in the 4x4 settings, then theres the touch screen setting to get lost in, yeah I get lost in because I'm still old school so would I rather have this 30 year old Jeep Cherokee, well, I dont know, I am kinda tired of the box look, these new Cherokees are sleek looking and by far more off road capable depending which one and then I didn't there was four Cherokee versions.....

Just because it's there doesn't mean that you need to use all of the features. In time you will grow to like it; especially when you realize how much nicer it rides. When you're feeling overwhelmed just read some of Oosik's posts about his Power Wagon. (AKA Taco Wagon. :D) I've always like the size of the Cherokees, but don't have a reason to own an SUV.

I've had a couple of Grand Cherokees and I really liked them. Very capable off road, yet rides well on it. I have to haul around a lot of tools, parts, etc. for my business, need off-road ability too so an SUV fits the bill. Got a truck too.

As far as some of the "improvements" go, some are for the better others not so much. I really dislike that so many of the functions of modern vehicles go thru a touch-screen. A client was griping the other day about his new Durango and how that's the only way to control the heater. Not crazy about having to take your eyes off the road to do things you should be able to do by feel. Surprised the gov't hasn't cracked down on that for safety reasons.

I haven't driven it yet but tried to pay attention to the sales guy on some features, good thing to last week wife went to go to store while I'm in house on the com. Then all I hear is revving up the engine like she's stuck, I go what the heck and go out, I go whats wrong, she says the Jeep wont move, I go is the brake on in a tip toe question, NO I DIDN'T SET THE BRAKE.............. I look inside and the brake light is on in the dash and on on the brake button, yes no more brake levers it's buttons, she says I did touch the button RGRGGGEJGCEGEGMFDGNM!!!!!!!!!!!

She must of hooked it with the purse or something, so she pushes the brake button, still on then I said you have to have your foot on the brake petal and then push the button, finally the brake light went off and away she went.

I cant say to much just a few days before I took my Liberty to the garage for a physical, I get out with the motor running to see the mechanic see if he's ready, he says bring it in so I went to bring it in the shop and the doors are all locked, I must of hit the lock button when I got out, first time I did that in 45 years....
