That is a big deal. Why would Texas have to get permission and wait for it on an EMERGENCY request to increase energy production in a situation like that. BTW, the request was for a waiver of emission regulations. So, supposedly the air quality was more important than the electric grid for 90% of the state that has the 15th largest economy in the world. Which also came within 5 minutes of a complete shutdown of their grid. It would have taken weeks to bring it back up. This is extremely serious business.
And, BTW, yes, there was a delay in getting permission from the Feds.
