LOL sorry about that. One should never assume. Yep, it's a parrot.
A galah could also be a bloke that acts like an idiot here in Oz.

Here is Rocky.

Cool looking bird. I did a search, YouTube came up. Looks like a popular pet.

When my father was visiting my former property the first time we had an large injured hawk on the ground. I called our local vet and they had a rescue group call us within the hour. We already put a cardboard box on it and they came by to get the bird within a couple hours. They can help many of the birds.

We've had local dogs* and a hawk wander into coyote sets. Throwing a coat over their head to release them was easier with the bird than with the dogs.

*BS-Tim showed up and demanded "who is going to pay my dog's vet bill?" I suggested he contact whomever let it out to run across the road, but gave him $75 just to get him off my porch.

About 20 years ago whilst posted to a Sydney Navy base (HMAS WATERHEN) I noticed a couple of ravens pestering something. It turned out to be a Tawney Frogmouth. I called over an Able Seaman to guard it while I gathered a towel to collect/wrap it & a box, then called Taronga Zoo who said to bring it on over; which we did.
Turned out that it was severely dehydrated due to drought conditions. They asked if I would agree to release it if it survived, which I did.
A few weeks later the Zoo's vehicle (zebra paint job :)) delivers the bird, in a box. People asked what was going on and I said that I'd joined the Zoo's 'Bird-of-the-Month Club'.
I had to wait until dusk to release it... what a wonderful feeling to watch it fly off.

It could be said Texas has tree huggers running the wildlife department. On a televised episode of Lone Star Law a game warden rescued a wild hog that had injured himself in a trap and took him to a place for rehab. Because of that silly Hollywood stunt, I haven't watched another episode since.
That was an episode that should not have been aired. The hogs do so much damage to the ag areas, the Texas ag people have programs on how to trap hogs to help reduce their damage to agricultural areas. In addition to information on how to control/reduce/eliminate hogs, the state wants to put out a general poison for hogs, but there's been so much push back from farmers, ranchers, and hunters that they've not done that. (as far as I know)

The hog meat cannot be sold in the US, but I've been told that they are slaughtered and sold in the overseas Asian market.

Oh a parrot , that's a coincidence.
We have a ~50 year old Double Yellow crested Parrot.

I just never heard Galah in reference to them before, going to call our Bird by that name once and a while and see if he responds.

My last dog got into a fox set out in back of my property. It was my fault as I knew that it was trapping season but I was occupied with something else and she wandered off. I tried the coat trick but she wanted no part of that... just get this GD thing off my foot and stop trying to play games. :D
