It does vary from nothing to bed rest...

Covid is similar but more extreme.

High School and university athletes had Covid and no idea they had it except when testing revealed.

Now many are rested weekly.

I got the Pfizer shot about 5 hours ago. I feel fine so far.

I have to say our system in Indiana, at least here in my county, works really well. The announcement came on the news a couple weeks ago that they were opening up 60+ and within an hour my employer's HR department had sent me a text with a link to Indiana's website that automatically drilled me down to my county. It asked me to pick a location out of a list of about 7 in a 2 county area. I picked one that is almost on my way home from work. Then it had me pick a date and time. I clicked CONFIRM and instantly got a text back with my confirmation. That text asked me to go to a website and pre-enter my insurance, demographics and some health history to speed me up when I arrived.

Today, I drove up, went inside. It's one of the larger banquet halls in the area. Lots of people going in and out. Lot's of people directing. They asked if this was my first shot or second. First to the right. They directed me to a waiting chair. About 60 seconds later they called me up to one of about 8 check-ins. I gave them my license and insurance card for ID. They clicked a couple buttons, gave me a card and sent me down another line. I stepped right up to one of 12 desks. Sat down, handed the nurse my card. She said Hi, which arm? Shot me up and they had me sit in a waiting area for 15 minutes and wave your card. Waving signals someone with a tablet to come up and get your information and schedule your 2nd shot in 3 weeks.

Honest to goodness, I pulled in the lot at 4:45 for a 4:50 appointment and I was out the door at 5:06.

It was pleasant, everyone was in a good mood, they were moving us through like cattle with military precision. The only thing that could have made it better was if they handed you chips and a drink on the way out. (y)

My wife got her second Moderna last Thursday and was knocked out pretty good on Friday, but back to normal by mid-day Saturday. Basically fatigue, headache, aches, and fever for about 24 hours.
My wife had a similar experience with the second Moderna shot. Kicked off the mother of all migraines.

She had never experienced a migraine before. But with the symptoms she was reporting I took it upon myself to pick her up some excedrin migraine on my way home from work.

About an hour after taking the excedrin she started perking up. And felt much better after a couple hours.

I should be getting notice soon for my second Moderna shot for around the 16th of March. Looking forward to it.

The roll out has had lots of issues here in the Bay Area with the biggest being tens of thousands cancelled as supply is redirected... even for some second doses.

The Oakland Alameda Stadium was first set up for underserved and hundreds it turns out were shorted and did not receive full doses.

Another site at Golden Gate Fields was shut down due to protestors against horse racing with protestors saying people will just have to deal with it.

Distribution equity is in the news a lot...

Hospitals are cancelling doses for nurses as no supply.

I imagine Johnson and Johnson will help ease that.

Got my second Pfizer about 15 hours ago. Just a sore shoulder still but a little sleepy. Hopefully that’s all I will feel.

Here in Quebec we book on line, download forms to pre fill, and we get a Email c/w a confirmation number..
They advise to not be too early, just 5 mins or so.
The 2nd shot time/date is then confirmed as we do a 15 min wait (for possible reactions).

This is the same procedure they used for the annual flu shots and that worked out very well.
Like, in and out in all of 20-25 mins well socially distanced.
LOL, parking lot was full with folks burning up early arrivals.
I brought a book!

They even did a postal mailer outlining the procedures in both French and English and phone #'s for those not 'net literate.

We are booked (and confirmed) for next Friday @3:30.
