John Deere rep going to take tractor

Basically all of the postings above happened to me also.... the wifey and I stopped into the local green dealer as the first stop.... looking for a 1025r. They couldn't be bothered to come out to show us, just pointing us to the row of tractors. Then it was like pulling teeth to get them to answer any questions... we left and went to the Kubota dealer.... got the same BS! We left and went home.

I am glad we did.... after searching for other dealers / brands, I stumbled across LS. When I spoke with the dealer, I felt like a real customer! He bent over backwards to answer my questions, even staying late to make sure I was satisfied! The next morning I called him back and made the deal (beating the JD and Kubota prices by at least $6K). I drove 550 miles (each way) to go pick up the tractor. When we arrived, his staff dropped what they were doing and treated us like royalty!

I now own my second LS tractor, the experience was the same on the second tractor. When (and if) I need a third.... it will be an LS...

JD and Kubota can kiss my "you know what"....

Same exact thing happened to me. Although with Kubota, Landini and New Holland. They couldn't be bothered to even show their tractors or even look at my two trade in ( I had pictures with me).

JD doesn't sell compact tractors here, unless special ordered. Long story short, ended up on a small dealer that sells Case and Branson tractors. Case doesn't have any options smaller than 60HP here.

I didn't knew much about Branson but went home and did my research. Then the dealer came to my house, looked at my two trade in, we worked out a price on the Branson and the two trade in and got an heck of a deal.

Beat the price of the equivalent Kubota and NH tractors for about €4500 or $5400 and got a lot more features that came standard versus the others that would ask top dollar for those features. My tractor came standard with telescopic stabilizers, Quick attach hooks on the lift arms, a set of remotes, an awesome fully adjustable seat, draft control and more stuff that I'm probably forgetting now.

Good reason to tell John Deere to kiss your sweet A**. There are other brands just as good and most likely MUCH cheaper than the green paint and plastic hood.

The JD dealers around me are a conglomerate. All owned under one name but trading as independent. I'm like the others and would walk away from that deal! Plenty of other iron out there to purchase. Good luck.

The "difference in price" may boil down to the 0% financing is not truly 0%...at least when I bought my 4066R last December. I was given the option of 0% financing OR an additional discount ($1750 or so). The salesman was very upfront about it and didn't pressure me either way.

We have also seen several Mom and Pop dealers bought out by a larger dealer. On the surface, I'm skeptical this will be to the consumer's benefit. However, so far so good here with the exception some consolidation in store locations.

As for the "John Deere Rep" taking the tractor? "Maybe, kinda, sorta" not out of the realm of possibilities. For example, (this may of changed) over a decade ago I know JD provided favorable dealer floor planning where if another dealer had a legitimate retail sale for a tractor, then the dealer in possession of the tractor had to either give up the tractor or its favorable floor plan.

^^^^
That could be entirely true! My dealer absorbs those 'additional' 0% financing fees so the customer doesn't pay anymore for the longer term. I was able to get 0% for 84 months and a $1,750 discount off MSRP on my recent purchase.

And...reading through all the posts...it just shows you how important a good dealer truly is and how bad a private dealer/franchise can make a tractor brand look. I'm glad I have a great Kubota dealer in my area.

I would take them at their word. A (an alledged) JD rep told you that they don't want your business so take it elsewhere.
