Whenever I see a place and think to myself how cool it must be to live there, I always seem to forget that sometimes it's not as cool as I think if I'm living there year round in reality.
Not much snow, its only 100m above sea level.Whenever I see a place and think to myself how cool it must be to live there, I always seem to forget that sometimes it's not as cool as I think if I'm living there year round in reality.
For myself, that is the perfect back yard. I'm also guessing you get a WAY lot more snow than I do LOL
Funny you should mention that. Sharn Jean and I visited St. Thomas USVI on a cruise ship; spent a day there and loved it. I thought it was the most beautiful place I had ever been, and Magen's Beach was breathtaking. I even said that would be a great place to retire.Whenever I see a place and think to myself how cool it must be to live there, I always seem to forget that sometimes it's not as cool as I think if I'm living there year round in reality.

When I was single and free as a bird, my old company would basically move me pretty much anywhere I wanted to on the East Coast, as long as they had an opening (which seemed like every year back then). Moved to what I thought was a really cool "southern" town after spending some vacation time there, and after about a 3 months living there, it hit me that being on vactation and actually living there are two entirely two separate things. We returned a couple years later; rented a small villa and spent a week there. There's no way I would want to live there after that week. The reasons are many, but the main reason is IT'S A SMALL ISLAND; it's very expensive; nothing in common with the residents there, and they drive on the wrong side of the road!

Man, I'd love to live there. Could you do me a favor and post pics of what it looks like in wintertime fishing there in the same spot?
