This is on the front of my tractor. Mahindra calls it a tow hook. The diameter of the holes are 1 1/4”, inner distance between holes is
2 3/16” and outer distance is 3 5/8”. Any ideas what I can attach here to pull/tow? I can’t find a shackle that has the right size diameter on the ears, inside or outside the two openings. I do have a heavy duty 1 1/4" pin that will fit. Thanks in advance!

I has issues on from of my GC 1715.... Absolutely nothing provided.... Ended up using a piece of angle iron bolted to front with hole bored into it and using shackle.... Not being satisficed with that I looked for large steel ring... Guess the don't make then any more..... So heated a piece of 1/2 round stock and wrapped around section of pipe, over lapped ends about a inch and welded.... Think if you can find or make large ring and insert it and drop a large pin through the bracket it will give you more adaptability or maybe just section of steel bar with two holes and inert one in and drop pin in and the would give you a "single hole" to put shacket in... Maybe just dropping a pin through bracken would give you better perspective on how to connect something even be able to use shackle....Anyway adapt and survive ...

This was my solution for my GC 1715, ring is large enough my 5/16 chain hooks drop through it...

And yes silly me lost the shackle pin but a 5/8 bolt & nut and hairpin clip save me from dumping shackle in trash and having to buy new shackle...

Likely intended for a loop in a cable or rope.

You are pretty much all set with the pin. If you had a dynamic rope, it will have a loop in it and just run the pin thru the loop, good to go, if a steel cable, same thing, or a chain pass the chain around the pin and hook the chain to itself, again good to go. Any kind of shackle or hook can be passed behind the pin...
bottom line the pin is all you need for almost any kind of recovery device. Your all set up.

Sounds like I was overthinking this. Your suggestion makes sense and is simple enough. Thanks so much!

kOua is right on. I have a pin with spring clip. I just pull the clip and let the pin drop, then stick my tow/tie down chain in behind the holes and install the pin. I have to do it this way as the chain's hooks won't fit with the pin installed. I have to install the pin upside down, as there is no clearance for pin head on top. It's clear as Mud.
Or just hook your chain to the brush guard.:sneaky:
